WESTS Tigers Team V Canberra....

Just on the team and the injury to Benji Marshall.

Can i get a x 2 from those who are happy he is out of the team.

Yesterdays news.

Better for the balance to the team I think. I think Grub will compliment Brooks better, the difference between Grubs best and worst is a lot smaller than Benji's.

Having said that, I am grateful for the efforts Benji gave us at the start of the year, a couple of those first few games would not have been won if he weren't there, and showed us a side to his game we thought never existed. I think he's just not up to playing 80 anymore and he's burned out as the year has gone on.

I am happy Benji is out, he was was stifling the attack, I thought Brooks would really shine with his chance to run the show against the sharks but I was wrong, but I live in hope for this week though

He'll be back… and hopefully when he is, he'll look more like he did the first rounds than the last he played. Apart from the calf injury IC also mentioned he'd been carrying some niggles. He certainly was out of sorts on a few levels.

Im with you on that, Benji played a very big part in a couple of early season wins. hopefully he can come back and play some sort of role at the back end of the year.

Wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see Tui in first grade again this year (barring injury).

Ivan is fair guy and I'd say his been pretty fair and upfront with Tui. He clearly has potential but doesn't understand the work required for fullback at this stage. He'll be able to slowly develop in ISP now without pressure and criticism. I'd say Tui would want that for his career prospects and Ivan would would want that for him as well. If he stays with us next year I'd say he'll be first in line to fill in at fullback if there is injuries. His probably not going to go anywhere. His getting decent coin with us more so than he'd get unless he goes to England but then he would be starting all over again. I'd say if he wants a career as a footballer the penny will drop soon and he'll see the benefit to all this going forwards. Feel sorry for him with all the badgering he cops to be honest. I'll be there supporting him and the team this weekend.

I doubt Benji will be playing next year. He can't hold the young players' hands forever and it is better that the team learns now how to play without him.

Welcome back Killa. Long long overdue. The best no 9 at the club outside Liddle.

Where's Tacky's wannabeast?

Did you want to say something to Mr Cleary?

Ad hominem. Look it up.

Don’t flatter yourself. You were all over accountability yesterday, don’t seem to want to give the coach any credit today. Looks like your the one playing the person not the selections.

A good side this week with no obvious problems. One change for me would be Mahe Fonua to wing & Kevin Naiqama to centre . I'd like to see Mahe with more space & one on one opportunities. One wider should do just that. Also I reckon they have more go forward with both Packer & Matulino on at the same time.
Good luck guys & no excuses.

Fonua has looked very average everytime he’s played wing. I like him at centre

Yeah, Mahe's deficiencies would probably be amplified on the wing. Kev was one of our best last week from the 60 mins I saw.

Good to see Corey get the #1 back. I'd rather a fullback who's support play isn't a strong point but competitive in every other facet of the role over a a fullback who's support play is probably better but poorer in every other area.

Killer to start, with ET starting at lock and Hazlewood on the bench for mine. A more well rounded bench there.

Where has this nonsense about Corey's support play supposedly not being a strong suit? Have you watched his games at fullback?

Totally agree with this point
Maybe his ball playing is non existent but think support play has been first class

Thank god Tui is gone!
Bring on the Killa ❤ not a game changer but at least hes a hooker!

Now we just need MWZ out and we would be golden.

I'd just like to see Packerlino show us what they can do, I won't hold my breath though.
Overall these pair have been pretty disappointing imo.

Once again not feeling confident this week, the confidence that was there earlier in the season is completely gone now.
The players won't admit it but as a fan I can feel it, I think the squad now knows their potential too and realise that they've probably already reached it, we don't have much more than we've shown already, we could control the ball better for sure but that's about it.

Happy to see Mcilwrick back. Wouldv'e been good if he started at hooker and E.T back at lock. Better team this week. Happy to see Tui gone

Cleary is usually good for a reshuffle. Would not surprise me to see him start.

A little better ball handling would probably have seen us in the top 4.
