I don't understand Packer's inclusion. He's not been a plus for us at all this season whereas ET has made things happen against the Roosters, Rabbits and Manly.

A bit surprised about Liddle's exclusion too. If one of the 6, 7 and 9 get injured we don't have many players who can direct our attack.

ET is off contract and already said he’s not gonna be at the club next season. Packer is contracted with us another season unfortunately

It makes sense if Madden was gonna play, you’d him name on an extended bench to keep the spotlight off him. You’d hope. Forgive me if I have no confidence in that happening.

It's a weird line up, Packer and Grub, the only logical reason to play them is in the hopes some other club sees something they like and takes them off our hands.

I'd prefer Liddle and Madden to be in, but they could be holding off on them to avoid injury in what is ultimately a nothing game.

My immediate thought is that even though we have 4 bench forwards we don't have a lot of minutes between our prop rotation. I expect us to have to play Aloiai and Mikaele for too long and watch them tire. At that point the Storm will run all over us.
Packer and Musgrove won't last more than 10mins each, so assume there will be a lot of reshuffling with Huth and Garner playing longer to make up for the props.
Unfortunately Reynolds is the only realistic option and Lawrence might be old and retiring but he's still safer even in the centres than Talau currently is.
As for Liddle, maybe the inclusion of him against most teams works with him darting around the ruck once the opposition pack is tired, but the Storm don't ever look vulnerable in that area, so maybe Madge has a different game plan that supports this selection.

Reynolds is probably only purely there because brooks is suspended. Chucking madden into this game is like throwing a pig to a pack of wolves

agreed. having to defend against Melbourne's pack would kill his career in 80 minutes. hopefully he has a decent pre-season and makes his debut at some point in 2021.
