Why is Grant in the 9 and Liddle out of the side when we can’t make finals and Grant has said numerous times he’ll be back with Melbourne next year?

Why is Lawrence anywhere near first grade? Good servant or not, he should of hung them up years ago!

Packer and Reynolds back in is also laughable. Think Madge has lost the plot

Yes you’d think being out of finals contention he might’ve blooded some young guys and kept Liddle in. Instead we a team that includes 3 guys who won’t be with us at all next season and 2 who we have been trying to offload for the past 2 years!

Agree.
I’m also fast losing faith in Madge.

Maybe his plan is to give them some game time to see if can off load them and not risk injury to players that will be there in 2021? Its a nothing game apart from where we finish on the ladder in 2020.

No matter which way you view it at least half the NRL public -"including incumbent players" - would be appalled if he dropped Marshall with two games to go and possibly the last time he will play in the NRL. Lawrence has served the club well enough to see out his career in FG and won't let anyone down and also has earned that right.
And how can we offload Packer and Reynolds If they don't have opportunity to show that they can offer something? You may not agree with the decisions but there are reasons for the inclusion of those players that are valid.

I think that reasoning re Benji is fair. Lawrence maybe. But it prevents us blooding youngsters.
It’s almost as if he is readying an excuse for failing next year.
I also don’t get the Liddle omission.

Prediction: reynolds to score a great solo try, catching the attention of super league who will throw money at him to take him off our hands.

Also, because he plays so well suddenly everyone on the forum says we should keep him. 😉

I agree with Madge's picks. Keep Liddle in cotton wool for a strong off season (this one is over). Debuting Madden against Melbourne is madness. Get Packer and Reynolds out there for the final two games to hopefully sell the bludgers on to some other unassuming SL side. Can't hurt keeping Lawrence around either given he has served the club well and has a possible two games left in his career.

Because we've seen how well the past 9 off-seasons have fared for us - great idea! Instead of real game experience, let's just pray this 10th off-season will be the charm for us right?

So much for planning for 2021...

Ancient mariners in the halves...

Why not experiment a bit.

Because they’re in shop window and that’s the priority for the club right now. Geez It’s not like we’re going to win the comp.

Josh has been in the shop window for two years....no one is buying.

one more game won't help...in fact, if he does a Foran (gets injured) there will be zero chance of moving him.

One of the worst team sheets I’ve seen all year from us especially in the circumstances and where we are in the year. Appalled to be honest. Maguire taking the piss or something

Pretty good team.

Big match up in Grant V Smith. Harry will be out to impress his future coach and i'm sure Cam will want to show who is still the boss.

Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire has named his side to take on the Melbourne Storm this Saturday at Sunshine Coast Stadium.

With Luke Brooks suspended for one match, Josh Reynolds returns to the run-on side and will start at five-eighth alongside captain Benji Marshall in the halves. Marshall will once again captain the side with Moses Mbye sidelined, while Joseph Leilua returns from an ankle injury to take his place in the centres.

Sam McIntyre earns a start in the back row with Luke Garner dropping back to the bench, while Zane Musgrove returns for his first game since picking up an injury in Round 6 against the North Queensland Cowboys.

Rookie halfback Jock Madden has been named on the extended bench alongside Tommy Talau, Jacob Liddle and Michael Chee Kam.

WESTS TIGERS
1. Adam Doueihi
2. David Nofoaluma
3. Joseph Leilua
4. Chris Lawrence
5. Asu “AJ” Kepaoa
6. Josh Reynolds
7. Benji Marshall (capt.)
8. Josh Aloiai
9. Harry Grant
10. Thomas Mikaele
11. Sam McIntyre
12. Luciano Leilua
13. Alex Twal

Interchange:
14. Zane Musgrove
15. Matt Eisenhuth
16. Russell Packer
17. Luke Garner

Reserves:
18. Tommy Talau
19. Michael Chee Kam
20. Jock Madden
21. Jacob Liddle

Coach: Michael Maguire

Would of rather seen Madden get a run than Reynolds.
Packer strange decision so think someone on the bench will change maybe Liddle instead.

Shows the lack of depth we have when looking at the 21 man squad, lets hope no injuries in the last 2 rounds with existing contracted players as these are nothing games other than where we finish on the ladder.

Lawrence don't mind his selection means he will play 3 games in a row before retiring on 253 games that some achievement.

Line maybe 14+ on these selections.
Based upon prior games take the line.

Tigers always play well against the storm so expect a bold showing only lost by 2 points last game and we WON by 1 in 2018. Looking forward to the hookers going at each other.

I’ve seen Madden play a few times and he is nowhere near first grade standard. Actually, I doubt he would make reserve grade. Very, very ordinary.

Good too see McIntyre rewarded. Disgusted to see Reynolds and Packer rewarded.

Club is trying to "showcase" Jrey and Packer to other clubs with the hope of offloading them next year

Weather permitting....

He’s just carrying a half on the bench . It’s good roster management. If you don’t pick him , we can’t pick him later .

Very happy with the team selection this week....I support Madge 100 percent,he is changing things in a big way and most on here wouldnt have a clue why he makes the selections he does...he knows his squad and every player within it..I hope Packer and JRey play fine and Liddle is kept for next year,he will be our No 9 first and foremost unless the swap deal is reinvented...
I said from the start Madge needs to have time to clean the deck after Ivan...it will happen and we will be finals contenders by at least 2022...
