It's going to be interesting if BJ and Tommy fire in the centers this week, what do you do with Mbye?
Liddle or Simpkins at 9 Mbye at 14.

I say fullback or five eighth, which ever one Doueihi isn't playing

The problem is both Simpkins and Liddle haven't played this year there is a big difference to playing and training with the squad in saying that I'd rather see what those 2 could do given we have Walters on the bench

i think mmbye will be good at 9 will allow him more involvement and to get the ball out quickly. Dont think Walters is the answet we need better than that either Liddle or Simpkin eventually putting Mmbye to bench and Liddle or Simpkin starting.
if Liddle does sustain one more injury then it is curtains and we do need a replacement permanently though, he has the body of a sao biscuit

Lol...Sao biscuit! Seriously though, great to hear the news he's completed his rehab. Lets not forget Teddy had multiple knee injuries, Loz has had more than he deserved during his career and Benji had his shoulder problems.
I'm sure Benj and Loz would've been doing all they could in helping guide Lidsy through it all, drawing on their extensive experiences. Benj nearly retired at one point and Loz seriously considered it after the head-clash.
I'm sure all WT fans hope he fulfills his potential with distinction here at the best club in the rugba-leeg universe.

Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire says despite a strong week of training and honest conversations following last week's defeat, their success will ultimately come down to their performance tomorrow night when they take on the Newcastle Knights in Round 13.

Sitting outside the top eight with just one win from their last five matches, Maguire was quick to point out his side's improvements in attitude and resilience in that time, but also emphasised that the bottom line came down to improving results.

Saturday's game against the Newcastle Knights — who conversely sit narrowly inside the top eight — is a crucial two points up for grabs in that regard.

"Over the last month, I've definitely seen a lot of change in how we are as a group," Maguire said of his side's performances.

"Ultimately, we're judged on the 80 minutes and this is a really important game for us.

"The boys have been progressing and working really hard at the things we've been talking about so I'm seeing that progression in a big way.

"But it's about getting results.

"They're all important games and we've got to have a real good performance tomorrow," he added. "We've had a good chat through the week — a real honest chat — and we're looking forward to the game.

"The response will show in the 80 minutes tomorrow but the way the group has been progressing is good. They've been working really hard and this week is no different.
"We've got a big focus to make sure we're getting a performance out we know we're capable of producing, and that's what's required. We're getting to the business end of the season and they're all important games now."

****Recalled playmaker Luke Brooks will don the number six jersey for the first time in his career as he plays outside milestone man Benji Marshall, who will play his 250th game for the club alongside fellow veteran Chris Lawrence.

Maguire said he was looking forward to seeing what the talented local junior could produce, and hinted that his role would change slightly due to the positional switch.

"You'll be able to see a little difference in his role," Maguire said.

"Just being wider of the ruck and that sort of thing. But we all know what Brooksy is capable of and that's what I've asked him to come back in and do.*

"The connections between the spine this week have been strong."****

Do you get the feeling that Brooks is on his last chance ...he doesn't fire now and Madge will let him go as soon as a suitable suitor is found

Drop Mumbai next week and play off bench unless he has a blinder.
He is a great utility player and can fill lots of positions, also not captain material and see Benji is this week.

The writing was on the wall a month ago .. the halves are a real concern next season .. if Brooks was in the plans he would be playing 7 maybe giving him a shot at 5/8 to see if he is suited there ...I have said previously he needs to move to another club and revitalise his career .

I'd like to see what Brooks's contribution is going to be..he is there for lack of alternatives? Hopefully he's picked up a thing or two about how and when to kick..

I’m actually starting to think being a ‘game manager’ has actually restricted Brooks skill set as its shifted his focus to playing conservative football.
If he gets back to his eyes up best he could be anything.

What skills?

Lol sao

I'll tell you what... If we were to get 25% of the calls Souths gets every game we would be close to a top 4 team.. Refs love them even when we are not playing them.
Massive game tomorrow so fingers crossed we can get a win and get back on track.

Rowdy starts, McIntyre bench. Club making sure he gets his moment for 250 games.

I can’t understand this. McIntyre and Garner are far better options imo.

Gotta make sure it’s a nice moment for a club legend. That‘s more important to tigers than form.
