The coach can chop and change as much as he likes ..I posted a very long time ago this team is going nowhere with Brooks .The team runs around with no structure no clean ball to basically any player and this is a continuation from last season .Until Brooks moves on this team has no chance of playing finals footy it all starts at number 7always has .I just can not believe how inept after a whole off season this team actually is ,its starting to get a smell and its coming from the coaches direction !

We haven't had a career half-back since
Prince left. What other team can say that?
It's a joke. Going on 16 year rebuild🙄

You guys should see the Facebook fans asking for Madge's head over this lineup. Some of them are saying it's the last straw of their support lol.

I wonder how many more try's and try assists Simpkin needs before getting into the 17.

1, 321 I believe Avo.

The way he’s going he’ll be there soon then. A star in the making and our long term hooker.

Well, Maybe - easy to rip it up in cc.

He’ll be starting hooker by end of year imo.

You could be right, if Liddle gets injured or earns a week off, before the semis.

If that's the case Liddle will need to improve his service.

Wests Tigers Coach Michael Maguire is set to welcome back James Roberts for Sunday’s Round 3 clash against the Newcastle Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Roberts missed last week’s loss to the Sydney Roosters with a minor injury but has been named to return to the side in place of Joey Leilua, who has been named among the reserves in jersey 19.

Representative forward Zane Musgrove will also return this week in a boost for the side after missing the opening two games with a suspension picked up in the 2021 NRL All Stars match. He will start up front alongside captain James Tamou with Joe Ofahengaue dropping back to the bench in place of Michael Chee Kam.

Russell Packer and Alex Seyfarth join Chee Kam and Leilua as the other players named among the reserves to round out the 21-man squad.

As expected.

This is pretty much our full strength apart from Blore (who is a rookie anyway). I would've started Musgrove on the bench considering **he hasn't played NRL for 2 years..** I would be extremely surprised if he is starting. He will get found out within 10 minutes. Looking forward to see him take his first hit up and his first tackle.

You do know Musgrove played NRL last year right?

AJ Shouldn’t be there. His effort stunk last round. He can consider himself extremely fortunate.

I think it is reasonably clear at this point that Madge talks a good game, but is fairly weak when it actually comes to changes. Even BJ has been given number 19 rather than a 'go shake hands with the reserves coach' style dumping Bennet hands out.

AJ, Brooks, MCK, Garner...Madge has never left anyone out for more than a week.

Hate to say it...but he is all talk.

Umm Roberts is not a guarantee because of a niggle I wouldn't be looking to much into the fact he is in 19.

I would be putting Laurie at halfback instead of Brooks with Mbye at fullback where he trained the house down in pre season

Why would you play our best player of the first two rounds, Laurie, out of position. Laurie is clearly our best fullback.

Not only our best fullback but our best player so far this year. Considering he was panthers number 3 fullback , just shows how much we have to climb as a club.

Humiliated two weeks in a row.

Enter Sheenius

Move a guy being groomed as a back rower to the centres and make one player the scapegoat.

Nah

Im out on this coach.

Joey was worst on the field by a long way last game so please explain to me how punting him makes him the scapegoat?

Haven't been receiving team list by member emails/notifications anymore. Maybe the club trying to keep it low key?

So many bad takes on this forum. Maybe time to log off and not come back until we are winning.

Bad takes such as what though?
If we persist with the garbage that has been trotted out for the past fortnight our season will be kaput after 5 or 6 rounds. Something needs to change, what that something is is anybody's guess.

Fully agree, you don’t want too many changes especially when no one from the reggies is demanding to be picked, the left edge is a concern with Frizzell. I would love to see a Sheenius move & have Brookes defend on the wing.

Cue fluff article from BJ this week.
"Hardest I've ever trained, working my butt off to get back in the team, want to do the fans proud"
Did I miss any?

Literally all he did last year was drop players and it's been two games and he's dropping players already. He's not afraid to do it at all, but with Talau at centre who do we have for wing? Doubt he wants to mess with the spine too much either.

He never actually dumped anyone though. He just recycled through them. He leaves players out for a week, they do nothing to rectify their flaws..and back they come.

That is not 'dropping' players. He also rarely goes outside his base 20. It is always just bring back Chee Kam or give Packer his 8th shot.

There's only so many players to choose from... he would bring players in give them a few games and if they didn't perform they would be gone. Rarely was it a player out for one week and then they'd be back.

It's not like our reserve grade was doing well last season to warrant them being selected.

That is probably our greatest problem actually...reggies have not put pressure for ages. Absolutely ages.

Even now...0 and 2.

Madden poor.

Would help if they won a few and we had some backs down there excelling.

You obviously didn’t watch him outshine every forward in the Maori / Indigenous all stars match. His well and truely up for it.

I think its a reasonable team with Musgrove in and BJ out. I think Kepoa to be on last chance at this stage and maybe the existing spine of Laurie, Doueihi, Brooks and Liddle given a week or two further to gel or the obvious first change will happen- Brooks out.

Still reckon if I were WT I’d be searching for a replacement half in England- we have till August I think to finalise squad. Brooks has been misfiring for 5 years now, Its over boy the moment we can get a replacement. Get someone for 2 years as I suspect Madden is at least a year away and has been given a further year to develop.
