You coming down to Leichhardt ?
Or is mrs happy doing her hair that weekend ?

I totally support Madge - he has forgotten more about footy than I’ll ever know but I’m struggling to understand the following:
1. Twal starting from bench
2. Lawrence to bench
3. Matterson to middle
4. Marsters continues on his merry way
5. Momirovski keeps his spot.

Twal has been our best for a while and Lawrence epitomises everything Madge asks for. Matterson is one of our only attacking weapons on the edge. Marsters has done nothing for a year. Momirovski is a 2nd grade player at best with no speed.

Anyway, I’m no expert so let’s see what happens.

On last weeks effort Farah should be dropped

Bingo..

to quote Madge We should have been a in a way better position in this game but we have moments where we lapse and that comes back to the characters we have in the team at the moment. We need to work hard to make sure we change it..

Then you get happy tiger posting Why wait, if he is true to his word, it will happen this Tuesday, and if he is fair dinkum Farah will be one of them, Benji will be lucky if he isn’t one as well. Eiso, Rowdy, Momirovski will be lucky to escape as well, MCK is no starting centre either

Now he's sooking if he was dropped...clear case of likes to have his toads and lick them too..

I like Madge but it’s still early days for me ..

Remember how we all fell for Cleary !

I’m totally convinced he is the guy to take the club forward but I’m struggling with these decisions. Time will tell I suppose

@happy_tiger - it's only one forum members opinion about what might happen - over the top reaction
Why would it be a disgrace anyway? He has been playing with a back injury we can rest him when ever we like. The club will promote it at Leichardt whether it is his 300th or 301st - there will be fans that want to acknowledge it. That is what a good club would do.
You don't need to be there so don't stress it's bad for your health.

Exactly ...so Leichhardt can be 301 then ...issue solved

My problem is you don't organize celebrations around players milestone

This is basically our GF season wise .....if that is how the club wants to treat our season they should refund every member

No other club would do the same ....not one

I'm sorry .....unacceptable

Who said they were?
You have got all worked up over an opinion that has nothing to do with the clubs position on the matter, and in doing so have used it to have another crack at the club, Farah, and the fans.

@WT2K my wife badgers me all the time...do this, do that, do something else and do it now!!!...yes dear and whatever you say, dear.
So 'Badger the referee' may give Us a bit of a go if she is 'anything' like my wife, cheers :relaxed:

Unfortunately he isnt he is a first class #$ %$ with an agenda

G'day @jadtiger: it appears you don't like him very much? ...hahaha!!!
but seriously, a first-class description of a #$%$ with an agenda.
Have a great day @jadtiger :relaxed:

G'day @TYGA: re usually 'very' @happy_tiger's comment "the club can go and root itself for all I care".
As a very famous and great Aussie entertainer Kamahl used to say [and was famous for] on Hey Hey It's Saturday.."why is everyone so unkind"... to Our Wests Tigers" [hahaha]:relaxed: :relaxed: :relaxed:

@Harvey
100% Madge isnt liking Huth defense in the middle so he’s dropped, it’s unfortunate Taylor is out injured other wise he would be starting at Lock....and yeah it’s the same reason why Mbye is playing in the centres, fonua out and momo n jenngings aren’t 1st grade centres.

I’d assume Twal was dropped to the bench due to prop rotation, as for Lawrence I think it’s fair he’s on the bench....Garner Will be at the club for a long time....best we let him learn his trade now whilst the season is over so he can come back next yr firing

@Snake Sad when the great players just go on too long. Time Robbie and Benji realised that too!

My take on this:
1. For several weeks now our early go-forward has struggled. Twal is a good footballer but I think he's being a bit blunted by the early exchanges - he's not a power runner and the fresh opposition is putting big numbers into their tackles. A big 3 of Twal / Aloiai / Huth hasn't been creating enough early-game platform, so Madge has changed it to Aloiai / Clark / Matto. With Clark you get a bigger body than Twal and perhaps faster PTB, plus I think his defence is a little less sound but a little more aggressive.

2. Lawrence on bench gives him more strike, because he's been a bit blunted last few weeks having to do a lot of defensive work. Lawrence spends the entire match running the crash lines and it's a lot of off-ball work when you are the starting backrower.

3. Matto is good anywhere but I think Madge wants him closer to the middle especially early on. Tigers have adopted the strategy of spreading the ball early and arguably Matto isn't really the guy to get involved in those plays, because he's not particularly quick and he likes to look for contact. Garner and MCK are much more mobile if we are shifting wide early in our sets early in the match. Matto also defends well in the middle and he likes the contact, so should be same effectiveness; he doesn't need to run at halfbacks all game.

4. I don't get the Marsters thing - he's still the best centre in the club and will get picked every week until he becomes the 3rd-best centre. He's a handful for the opposition, he does his early-tackle hitups; a lot of folks seem to want him to constantly run that crash-ball line - watch him closely, he does do it but mostly as a dummy-runner). He otherwise has good footwork and demands early ball, which he often does not get. Clearly the coach is keeping him where he is, so he must be meeting some expectations. It goes back to the platform - we get good platform then Esan gets early ball and space to operate in, and Brooks / Benji can give him good service. We don't get good platform and the backs just get swamped. I thought Marsters covered Croker last week, outplayed Hoffman the week prior, was alright against Latrell and was comfortable against Braidon Burns.

5. Mommers - who would you replace him with? He's solid enough, was involved in a few line breaks last week, defends well, can catch. Jennings has been terrible, Fonua is injured. Obviously there are some good young kids like Talau and Bradley who might be ready for firsts, but you have to trust the coach to make that call at the right time, both for the club and the player. We really need to win matches right now and whilst injecting a junior player might give you a new dynamic, it might also open up unavoidable weaknesses for the opposition to exploit.

Yeah, really been struggling to start matches generally since Matulino has been out, bar when Clarke came in late for Aloiai and did his job. Expect that with Ryan in the middle, Twal will start with Josh on the bench, as like Alex and possibly more so, garlic mayo is well blunted in the initial exchanges.

Oliver consistently found his front early in that game, unlike the others apart from Mikaele, which provided some platform to work off.

Can’t argue with any of this. You make sense.

Re marsters - I’ll watch out for what you are saying but I’d like to see him occasionally try to beat a man on the outside rather than jinking infield.

As for Momo - happy to be proved wrong but he seems slow and is not offering anything. I’d be interested in the conversation that took place in deciding he’d be an asset for us.
