I don't know if I've seen a 9 get to the play the ball less than Liddle. I thought that was their role but he just doesn't get there.

100% so many times he get there a second after the ball is played too

His clearing pass out of the ruck rarely hits the player running on to it.which slows the attack down and is easily defended

Madden was playing first receiver for the last 2 weeks, and he had a lot more touches than Brooks both weeks. Lots of terrible kicks, disorganised attack and non-existent defence.

It did not matter if it was Brooks, Madden or Peachy at first receiver, the forwards were never in position to run the ball. There should be multiple hard running options available every time.

Without Brooks organising the attack, we were far worse than usual and just ineffectively ran one out most of the game.

Liddle is a myth, injuries aside he is one of the worst hookers in the comp. Simpkins is way younger than him and has a way higher ceiling. Liddle must go at the end of the season at the latest, that is if anyone will take him.
 
To'a replacing KM who atm is busted and overweight is the right decision.
I think this is still a NSWRL side.
It clearly shows we lack depth.
If Madge needs to experiment he maybe should try Brooks at hooker and bring Simpkin on to revert if it fails.
The reason for this is Brooks can play 80min and at dummy half he can give better service than what was dished up in last weeks garbage by Liddle. He also is quick off the mark for those dummy half dashes.
Would then have KH and Mads pair up.
The biggest problem we have is in attack. We are way too flat.
A flat backline is by far the easiest one to defend against.
If you've recorded the Cronulla game, go back and have a look at the Sharks backs in attack.
From the second receiver to the wing they were set up very deep and neerly standing behind each other.
By doing this, they were forced to run faster onto the ball.
They could see where the holes in the D were unfolding [ which defender was not responding to the shift].
They were able to adjust their line or direction of attack.
It's also harder for D to adjust quickly if the attack are sprinting at you.
It's not just Cronulla who do this. Another team with similar attack is the storm.
Having Garner in the centres is a concern still.
Once again it highlights our depth issues.
Hastings and JT should be the only captains, period!
Gildard is inexperienced in the NRL.
He's better there with Roberts not Garner, so by having Garner there Madge had to drop Gildart, no choice.
If we don't show some urgency in this game we definitely will be crowned the joke of the NRL.

Ok, i must be old school but i just Don't understand why you would pick a loose forward to play center. Really? if i was a Center or outside back in the lower grades, i would be totally p...ed off regarding this selection.No wonder players leave or ask for a release from this club.
This is not good enough, this has not worked in the past and will not work now.
