Didn't want to start another topic. So I'll put it here

Chris Lawrence began full training this week, 7 weeks after he broke his nose, both cheekbones & both eye sockets. He also suffered a collapsed palate & dislodged teeth, & now has 7 plates in his face. He is unlikely to return within the next 2-3 weeks but does plan to play again - nrlphysio

wow! That will be a tough comeback.
If I was him I would consider retirement.
He has had quite a few setbacks. This one is a confidence killer. Seen in the past good players with bad broken jaws ... not pretty when the re-break it again on resuming. It’s a tough contact sport. Weakness in restructured facial works remain, no matter how many steel plates you put in there.

I don't care who was told this and that, or nothing at all. The situation is a joke. WT have copped a financial penalty and cap reduction for two years for someone who was paid for continuing to play and elsewhere to boot.

@formerguest There is nothing i would like to see more in the NRL than equality and true fairness in its decisions in regards to all the clubs.I dont believe it is possible under the current regime as there is a distinct taint of blatant favouritism surrounding them

The actual rules allow for cap relief for the one off injury that causes retirement as opposed to the Inglis situation. So it would be very contraversial if we weren't allowed.

GI has openly said he NOT retiring because of injury. So they can not use the injury card. Of course with Toddy running the show anything is possible. Fingers crossed Toddy is now on very thin ice with the JDB case about to blow up in his face
