You don’t drop a big front rower and add a tiny 2nd rower, Huth will play. Official site said no replacement was named for Mikaele and McQueen just dropped into 17th spot. I think it make sense to give him a break, last week was not his best game.

He may just be injured, but well before the 80 minute mark on Sunday, based on his performance, I for one expected that Maguire would be sending him back a grade this week and that was well before hearing the glowing reports on Eiso.

Mikaele’s defence is the issue.

Watch the Napa try on the highlights and you’ll see Mikaele not sliding across field with enough urgency to follow his edge forward MKC. If your the B or C defender next to the edge forward you have slide with them when the defence starts sliding. Mikaele should have been in position to wrap up Napa or put the shoulder into him when the ball come back inside from Foran. Instead there was a huge hole for Napa to stroll through untouched. Mikaele’s ball carry’s are robust, but his positioning and awareness in defence still needs some work.

Eisenhuth will take his spot on the bench.

Loved the euphemism: "with enough urgency". He displayed a complete lack of urgency and walked slowly across field in cover. It was totally unacceptable. Reminded me of Jessie Sue at his worst.

It absolutely kills me that we allowed Foran to have such an impact on that game. The guy has been a complete passenger in teams since he left Manly, but somehow ends up back in form against us 🙄

Maybe the Reynolds 5/8th could be a smokescreen. Perhaps Matterson starts at 6 with grub going to the bench to rotate with Robbie. ET to second row and Eisenhuth to lock. That would mean no beast on the bench for mine.

I don’t think he looked any more gassed than anyone else. But if he had it would possibly be fair enough given he made 52 tackles.

I suspect you are right, which is disappointing in itself. We kept hearing about how tough the pre-season was and that the boys have never been fitter. Our performance against the Dogs makes me wonder.

I agree with this. Mikaele covers across in the normal fashion and Napa doesn't stride over untouched. Or to put it another way, if a prop waltzes untouched over the try line up the middle corridor, someone has made a big mistake.
