Cruel but fact: The last time Wests Tigers beat Sydney Roosters at Campbelltown, Daniel Fitzhenry and Lincoln Withers were the halves pairing. The Roosters had Brad Fittler and Brett Finch in the halves

We've only played the Roosters 3 times at CSS since that 2003 match. So it's a bad record but we haven't had many opportunities to specifically do better at CSS.

Worse stat by some margin - only defeating Roosters twice in 20 attempts since 2010, including 4 losses in 2010-2011 when we were a Top 4 side.

Only defeated Roosters once since 2012 (15 attempts) and that was only because Tedesco dropped a pass with the line open, then Tui Lolo kicked a late sideline conversion.

Hard to see us beating the Roosters again without Tui

And a try assist off Marsters noggin to Cory Thompson ?

How on earth did we win that game lol

How the hell did a team consisting of Rochow, Godinet, Lolohea, MWZ, Packer and the rest of the duds manage to win 5 out of 6 games to start that season including roosters and Melbourne twice!

Then we lost to all the spud teams and came 9th. Shows how much not only our team has improved but everyone else's, the quality of NRL squads are mostly just getting better and better.

Remember second time we played them in 2018 we lost 16 to 14 but should have won in the dying seconds just couldn't get the ball down

We need agression in the spine, Laurie so far is the only one.
Dueihie may help, but i think Simkin could add that sting that we miss. I think he woud learn just as much , if not more playing in the top grade . All this BS about experience and youth, and bring them on slowly is just --BS,.

What about Madden ...you've dropped him like a hot potato

He's not ready. Work in progress.

Sleeve had him starting round 1 .....he seems to have fallen off his map

I hate Ivan as much as anyone but he got that team playing to 100% of their ability in those opening rounds.

We have had a lot of false hope with this club but there are no words in the dictionary to describe those 6 rounds.

That one loss was against Broncos at Campbelltown off the dodgiest penalty call ever, we could've been 6/6.

Such false hope :disappointed:

Thankfully we don’t have Sutton and Munro this game. They are staying on the Raiders away game with Sharks. Will be interesting to see how they go?

I think Tommy could be a very good ball playing lock, similar to Cameron Murray but slightly bigger and faster. Plus he was a 5/8 coming through so has good ball playing skills.

Agree, posted that 9 months ago, not many agreed back then. He is a much better option than Twal imo.

Twal played a very tradesman-like game, the no frills kind Bellamy would ask for, we could use a few of his boofhead mates to follow his lead.

Almost every time he ran the ball he hit the line softly, they held him on his feet and walked him slowly while their line was getting set. Looks good on paper with his post tackle metres and he was safe, but compare his play to that of Tamou and Joffa who are fellow props? I like him in the team for what he brings but if we’re looking for areas to improve we can’t just look at players who drop the ball.

While Tamou, Joffa and Twal were doing their thing we were well in the game, then the brain faders got involved. Imagine Bellyache up in the box if his players did some of that stuff. He’d end up in intensive care.

Bellamy would have hooked Garner the minute he done that stupid tackle.

Yep, my guess is he wouldn’t have waited for the O’Brien glass repairers.
Unfortunately we’re a long way off developing that degree of expectation into our culture if we ever will get there?

Raiders did a very good job on Luciano, not all teams will be able to contain him the way they did.

Fox said JTJ had limited duties at training but didn't say any more than that

He looked like he copped an upper body knock while defending late in the Raiders game. Clutched at his shoulder/chest and then came off early.
Hopefully not too bad if he's been given time to come good.

Imo I think the whole news around Jimmy not training with the first grade squad due to potential injury is all a lie.

Talau will start and JTJ comes in with SPEED at the end of the halves

Thoughts?

no way he is leaving a centre on the bench

Jimmy will either start or wont be in the 17 period.

Meanwhile, James Roberts had a break from a high impact training session on Wednesday. NRL.com reports Roberts ran laps in joggers while Tommy Talau trained in his place.

Ive been worried about JTJ from his first day at training he has had that shoulder very heavily strapped. Initially I was worried it could be a hang over from his pec injury but seems he has a genuine (and long term....he had it day 1 at Tigers after a long break) shoulder injury.
