Not a great look with MCK starting in the centres and Rowdy on the bench but I trust Madge has a plan.

Do you think it is possible WIllow the plan is 2021? I am perfectly okay with that. Releasing Cory and not adding anyone smells a lot like forward planning rather than trying to win now. When your outside backs depth was Jennings alone and MCK / Rowdy if it got desperate, it does not seem like semis in 2020 is a realistic aim. We released an outside back when we basically had no cover...three weeks ago. None added since.

It seems like getting the right pieces long term is more important and stop gaps will have to do for now. And, again, I am okay with that.

I really hope so, MCK seriously, when has he ever played well at centre, for even half a game, let alone start there. I don't get this at all, it smacks of the old play as bad as you like and keep your spot, I thought we moved on from that proven failed selection process

Madge has likely picked whom has been doing best in this role at training, whom has been fitting into the team structures better than anyone else, which is behind closed doors so he sees it and we can't.

I'm sure Madge picked who fits the bill best, but I also bet you that Madge wishes he had another choice.

Yep, unless Bennet gets smart and realises the massive mismatch.

Graham is not as explosive and would suit Chee Kam better. Roberts is exactly the type of player who has burnt Chee Kam before..fast, strong fend...

Bennet is not known for adjusting plans though...so maybe there is hope.

Oh well...MCK simply can't play center at NRL level. He will tire, arm grab and miss. Souths outside backs will have a field day.

We really needed to address this when Cory was released. It is hard to fathom how the club did not add an outside back when they released him.

He does that before he tires...too slow for the centres,as is Lawrence
Surely hes not gonna play this team as listed...?

Don't know what's happening with Blore not even named in the 21. Maybe Madge thinks he isn't ready for first grade yet. From what I have seen he looked the goods. And on a side note Stefano has been named on the bench for the Eels so hopefully get a look at him this week.

The club has let themselves down by not going out and getting some decent depth in this area, then on top of that recently letting go of the only player who could easily and competently fill that void for 4 weeks, without signing a replacement. Yes Joey is a idiot for getting himself suspended, but he could just as easily be out injured for a month and we'd find ourselves in the same position with MCK and Lawrence our only real cover.

Honestly, I'd rather see Benji have a go there. Pretty sure he's played centre one or twice before and looked pretty good. He still has speed and skill. Everyone will say his defence is bad, but hey we're currently going to go into the game MCK there instead - is there any difference defensively?
