How come nobody mentions Simpkin let the first try in and missed a number of tackles w hile Liddle had a good game in reggies .Is Simkin the latest favourite.


because he made about 51 tackles and had the big boppers running at him all day.

Not a lot of thought has gone into this team, considering how badly they played last weekend, Joey was a surprise, not sure what Cini has to do to get a start, JTJ has to be on his last legs, literally. Good to see Twal back at prop and Joffa at lock, not exactly an inspired positional change more common sense.
Just hope a football team turns up in West Tigers jumpers against the Dragons, should be a good forward tussle and the backs (1,2,5,6 &7) should be ok the centre's need to aim up or get used to finishing their careers in the reggies.

The team shows how slim pickings we have in the backs.

Tawl at prop big yes - should always play there he has never been a lock.

Joe isn’t a backrower, maybe a roving lock role could suit. He is actually one player trying week in week out.

Seyfarth on the bench is stupid. He is not an impact or hold player. Swap him for Amone and Liddle for Mbye and will be happy with the bench.

we can't carry Liddle and Simpkin in 17
hopefully next year Hastings or Brooks takes the Mmbye role

I think adding Liddle to the team would really lift our attacking options. Thought he only needed a bit of a spell tbh but in a shared role he's always been great due to his agility. It's also great to use as an additional playmaker with some experience.

if we dont move Brooks or Mmbye on next year with Hastings joining us I don't see a dual hooker role working, simpkin plays 80 mins.
if we dont have Brooks or mmbye then maybe Liddle on the bench could work as Hastings would then play 7. if Hastings plays 13 then we need a backrower on the bench that can cover centre if needed

I understand but with no disrespect you're talking about next year or something that doesn't benefit the team's productivity for this year.
You've mentioned Brooks and for the same reasons you've stated, this is why having someone like Jacob in the team increases our attacking options and somewhat relieves some of the pressure for our halves. He's already played alongside Brooks and has that combination in place and I don't think it sets Simpkin's development back but rather will only assist it.
Liddle is very sharp and it could be a real asset for us during the middle part of the game.

I see simpkin is about to be extended to 2024 I don't think Liddle will be here next year.
if Lidde does move on then no point playing him this season is just about done anyway, may aswell play Mmbye and hope someone buys him

I think we still need Liddle but he is within his rights to leave if he sees fit
Hopefully he repays us a year or two
If he ends up going to the dogs, it is another piece to their puzzle
If they land say a Mikaele and Finucane then they start to look dangerous
Especially if the Naden Rumours are true

do you think finucane will leave storm isn't he co captain, if he does want to come to Sydney then we should throw plenty at him

Compare him to all the other halves in the comp and his sits half way on that list
A Reynolds Brooks combo could very well work
Reynolds would take all the pressure off Brooks
The point is there are better halves in the game then Brooks
We should always look to upgrade our players no matter who it is
We can not continue to play the same game we have been playing for years
Laurie and Simpkin have been great finds so far

I thought Tamou and Ofahengaue would have offered more but they are no better then what we had
If we have the $ why not get the experienced heads of Reynolds and Finucane

For everyone that banged on about Liddles slow service Simpkin hasn’t been that much better in that regard IMO. I honestly think it has to be our shape in attack we stand so flat it’s totally against what both Liddle and Simpkin are used to.

Compared to our free flowing attack in reserves it’s chalk and cheese

thankfully you are not in Hartigans role, simpkin is miles better than Liddle at a younger age he has plenty of upside. Put liddles money towards a good centre, do you have a crack at staggs or try and entice finucane over from storm

I meant he is as good and better than liddle at the moment at 19. Liddle is hampered by injury too good luck to him if he can snag a good deal given previous injuries

I am all for this as well. Liddle can play. I also think Simpkins is a touch better but it's not much of a difference. Having them both in the team may make a difference.

the Liddle fan boys good luck to them he had first crack, he will get a run if simpkin is injured or Mmbye goes down etc. For balance of the team we dont need both in 17 we need a Mmbye type ball player who can come on at lock.
