Wests Tigers to Liverpool’s Carnes Hill ...

What a glorious start to the day. Common sense was always bound to prevail.

Damn right, finally some good news for the week.

Positive news , agree this is right in the Middle of growth areas , boom amount of land sales , and location via freeways is good , corporate dollars are already moving west , Erskine park has a massive factory hub and it was bush only a few years ago and the companies coming out west are large companies relocating , the dollars are there , the people are there , just need us on our own home ground

There is still a big 'if' in that story. Sorry but I think we are a little over optimistic about the funding. I'll rejoice when I see the money.

If we could get our own - our very own purpose built home ground there too…imgaine that.

I guess its good news....just moving though wont change a our problems, we'll just take them with us if we dont learn and change from all our past errors

Time will tell

Whether the money is there for this to eventuate is an issue in itself, but the fact that that the club has finally acknowledged that the SW is the way to go, I see that as a win. A win after being told for yrs that the area was worthless and that it would never happen, this feels like vindication. Even Humpty, as Balmain biased as he was perceived as being acknowledged when he was in charge that the SW was what the club should be striving towards. Now it seems like it's on the cards, and I for one couldn't be happier.

Finally some great news!

It sounds like the focus is on lobbying Federal Govt rather than State, which is surprising given the infrastructure rampage that Baird is on. Plus I think concord was going to be utilized for Westconnex? But I'm sure there are reasons there.

Even just as a proposal, this direction will be great to attract some new players to the club!

Great work Marina & team.

It's promising news. Nothing more.

Still need funding and that's no certainty.

A stadium will be a long, long way off. 20-30 years at best. It's not happening in the current stadium developments so expect it to be some time before any more funding is spent on stadiums.

And for those saying it's in the middle of our nurseries, it's not, don't pretend it is. It's a long way from the inner west of Balmain, Gladesville, Ryde. I don't care where it is though, but yes many of our juniors will have to travel further to get there.

But in the end better facilities is a win, no doubt and anyone get paid to play footy will go wherever they need to get to training.

Yeah,a long way to go but the NRL wants a Team based in greater Western Sydney,no secret there, and part of the agenda of the 'independent' Directors is to achieve that goal long term.
At this stage its us to fill that void but the NRL would have other contingencies in place if the Tigers implode.

If by chance this does eventuate the Tigers would be in the middle of the biggest growth centres in the country ,the road works alone that is starting in this area and surrounds has never been undertaken before and throw in a new airport .
This is not a new story has been floating around for some time ,hope that this is the real deal but at present am thinking it is just a convenient pieces that suites certain agendas.

I don't believe too much that comes out of the Board either(?particularly when they waffle on about being a up with the big boys by 2017) but I'm happy to see what comes, (if anything, ) out of this.
If it comes off then I think almost all of us will be happy( no pun intended, Happy)
If it doesn't, we can't be any worse off

In order for this to happen it requires a $10m injection from the federal government…..will never happen!

Why can't we get the money off uncle Harry?

I wondered that too GNR.
He either doesn't want too, or his family won't let him..Who knows.

Well the fact that the club has acknowledged this not long after the NRL took over is food for thought. If it's the NRL who wants it, then chances it will happen

That's the cloud in our silver lining… The 20-30 year part. :frowning:
Wish it was sooner.
