Wests Tigers v Raiders U20's semi-final Live game thread

We could have scored at least two more tries in the last ten, but credit to Canberra their defense up the middle was superior and their attack picked out our weakness left side defense!
Without our two props and other injuries we would have been much better.

Santi our best player.

With the players back from NSW Cup Penrith should be a good step ahead of the competition

can brooks play nsw cup if they win this week ??

I was under the impression that he was.

However because he has played a NRL game I believe it puts him in a different set of qualifications which he does not meet.

Even if he was eligible he may be better served taking a break

I dont think its a case of we let him go….. He was taken. I dont think we could match the cash and offer of a starting spot. He is a class player, and will etch himself out a solid career, but he is in the Fulton mould, so was back in the line here. Good move by him.

Disappointing finish to a disappointing season.

very talented squad, we didn't put it together often enough this season.

Hopefully we see a lot of these kids develop further

Some of you people have no idea!!!

Lost their two props, ( one of whom is the best go forward prop in the NYC), lost the best player in the NYC ( Brooks ) for a period, played one of the longest and draining games last week, and you still bag them!

Oh, yes and the fullback was smashed and his face looked like it had been hit with a meat cleaver. But not to worry.

It looked to me that they were playing the Canberra first grade side, such was the difference in size.

Well done boys, another year in the finals after winning last year. Looking forward to next year with the inclusion of some of the lads from Keebra.

Spot on there. Losing your starting front row, no 6 (Moses) and then injury to pivotal number 7\. Some of our under 20's will be stars

That no try in the first half dampened the teams confidence, no Brown, no Andy and Brooks taking a hammering meant that the young guys were on the back foot from the start, while some of the tries they let in were ordinary ones how a team can get up and play in front of a empty stadium is beyond me, Canberra were more used to it and it showed.

Denied try for offside. Unlucky

Bloody technicalities !

Yet later on Canberra were allowed a try in similar circumstances, one player was the dummy half while the other player was the the person who played the ball, absolute nit picking, it's hard to be outside the 10m area when the kick has been put in 5m out from the line!.

On paper this side was probably the strongest in the comp (or thereabouts ), they are jam packed full of blokes who will play first grade, some of which will play loads of first grade.
They have about 10 blokes who played Aussie Schools and or under age NSW footy, including 2 Aus schoolboy captains.

There were mitigating circumstances, but this side should have performed better this year.

Footy is footy and you can lose any game, particularly to a quality side, I'm not worried about that, but this side should not let a side score 30 unanswered points, they are better than that.

This side has under performed.

Canberra outmuscled and received a huge share of penalties in the first half and into the early part of the second half. By the time Wests Tigers got on their bikes the horse had bolted. Play the match another time with our full set of forwards and the result would likely be different.

Santi was miles ahead of any other Wests Tigers player. Lovett tried hard as did Brooks but the rest of them should be looking at a different career path because they will never make it past reserve grade.
