Wests Tigers vs Manly - Live *** Spoilers

We played more controlled in the 2nd half and we were a LOT more disciplined with the ball , had a ton more possession than Manly hence the score ..

Manly were absolutely horrendous …
We should’ve put 50 on them !

Scoring points and closing out the ends of each half’s will still be our weakness this year imo
 
We will definitely need to be a cut above for next week's game against the warriors., a much bigger pack our attack needs to be better to tire them out.
 
Have to say, reading this thread was an eye opener. The majority of the first 150 posts were whining nonsense. Some of you need to settle down and understand that its the start of the year.

Under the conditions and with the leadup to this game that was a solid victory. We finally have a coach who values the forwards and a great bench to back them up. We can certainly build off this.
 
I think watching Benji kick it on the 3rd tackle 2 sets in a row to no one, and then not kick it on the 5th while he instead throws a no look bullet pass to no one the next set warrants a little bit of whining. Credit where credit is due, however, he actually started kicking in the second half hence the points
 
The no look stuff is instinct and often a mistake. It looks pretty but im not a fan of it to be honest.
However he and Rob were playing to the conditions kicking wise, turning them around in the wet and forcing errors they had them pinned down their end regularly with their big boys trudging it up against set defence on a heavy track. Fatigue got them in the second half due to this tactic in the first.
 
I thought the kick chase in the 2nd half was excellent and Benji was alway the first one down there.. Fingers crossed this keeps up
 
They never really looked like losing to me, even though their attack was very ordinary. Good energy, and line speed in defence, and harassed DCE all game. Under the circumstances and considering the terrible conditions -(it poured down in the first half )it was an ugly wet weather win that will give them some confidence heading into next weeks game.
 
Atmosphere was great at LO on the concourse in the main stand (still got soaked of course) - we were just behind the Manly "dugout" and gave Tom, Cartwright and the Manly "hangers on" heaps during the game.

Thought it was a good solid win but in the weather circumstances it showed a good deal of patience and discipline in the first half. Something we have lacked during recent times. Doubted Marshall set up the try for Garner - he set it up himself by running over the top of DCE. As for the idiot who kicked (not sure who it was as I was so angry) with about one minute to go, should have his legs cut off.

Still - looking forward to next week and hopefully a better effort as the opposition will be slightly better. Go you Tigers!!!!!
 
Think you maybe right (also think someone on the right side called for the kick) - all we had to do was take our time run the tackles down and win without them scoring a try.

It was a Benji type thought, try to win the game again in the last minute when you already have won the game.

I agree 100%, some forumers on here are happy with mediocrity
