Like the title says . There’s no way on earth we are coming last . We never have with way worse teams , in way stronger comps .
Honestly I’m not biased , have people actually looked at the bulldogs team ? Not 2022 but 2021 ? Or the warriors , or the dragons , or the cowboys , or last years spoon got worst ie. the broncos . Or manly . Or Parra , who basically have no centres all of a sudden . Or the Sharks who are missing thier only attacking spark for 2 months . Even the Titans have no backline . They can sign all the forwards in the world , but it’s AJ brimson and not much else .
Actually I don’t know why I’m complaining , this is great for betting purposes . How much are we paying for the 8 if we are spoon favourites ?

$3.85 or thereabouts for the 8 last I saw. Good value.
Dragons are looking the goods for the spoon.

A lot depends which betting agency you look at ..(Sportsbet)
Least wins/spoon
Dogs $4.50
Broncos $5.00
Dragons $5.00
Tigers $6.00
Sharks $9.00

But channel 9 has us at outright favourites according to that Wanker Cameron Williams .

I haven't had time to have a good look at other teams but you're right, those you mentioned don't seem to have improved out of sight. Smith is also a massive loss for Melbourne and who knows how much footy Cordner and Keary will play for Easts, along with whoever's playing half. I think the Knights will struggle with internal issues, too. Not an overly strong year.

They are specials . Imagine thinking 2020 Jack Birs is going to turn your club around . He won’t play 10 games .

The storms top 30 is like 6 stars and a whole bunch of no names . I know they’re all just a season or 2 away from being household names , but still not much name value outside the initial 17 . They’re really going to Faumaseuli . Not to mention Cameron smith . They haven’t replace tino , and Cam smith is near on irreplaceable.
Every team has huge question marks outside of really the raiders IMO. Even the panthers have lost 2 of thier big metre eaters last year .
How anyone can confidently say anything outside of the dragons and cowboys are going to be crap this year , is beyond me . There’s not 1 team who wouldn’t surprise me not making the 8 , and there’s only 2 I’ve mentioned who will surprise me if they do .
It’s going to be a very close competition this year.

Im buggered if I know how they get their predictions ...I reckon we wont even be close to the spoon this year,if our team under Madges guidance work hard all season to win games and work for each other then we will make the 8...if we dont we wont finish any lower than 9/10...but Im backing us to make the 8 and give the teams ahead of us a heck of a shake up if all the players keep it together...

I too cannot believe we are in the same conversation as the Broncos and Bulldogs. Manly without Tom Trbojevic are on their level. The only post-Magpies team I've seen worse than 2020 Broncos were 2016 Newcastle. Broncos haven't really recruited anyone, yet they've added some washed up players to their roster. Don't see things getting any better for them.

mainly due to the fact that people are unsure where our points will come from with no Harry and no Benji, we have no recognised fullback or hooker and a lot of what ifs surrounding the likes of Joey, Roberts, Brooks, Doueihi, Joffa and the rest. I personally think we're about 10th on paper and could go higher if we get it right, but to be fair I understand why people have us around the bottom 4 before a ball is kicked.

Probably the same place they came from before Harry got here , and Benji decided to play benji ball from round 10 onwards . I honestly think , so called experts only watch the highlights package on the nrl app.

while I agree with you mate they were our two most important attacking players last year. Marshall overcalled Brooks on just about everything and Grant dominated our middle corridor and was taking 1 run a set minimum. no one, ourselves included, have any idea what style of football we'll play because our spine is completely different to the one we had last year. uncertainty typically means people are hesitant to say you'll make the 8.

There’s at least 6 crap coaches who will do thier own team in before a ball is kicked . Barrett , brown ,Hook and Walters are not good nrl coaches . The jury is out on Payton and O’Brien, and Morris .Holbrook is awesome , Demetriou, I mean Bennet , is good as well.
Stuart is due for his 1 awful season every 5 , Robbo and Bellyache are the top . Madge is probably with Cleary as much as it pains me , skill level . Brad Arthur , is meh I guess, Des might self implode again .
One of those first 7 won’t have a job , at the end of the year . That’s my prediction.
Pundits always dismiss bad coaching . It’s a sure fire given that some teams will just be badly coached.

Yeah but 16th ? That’s ludicrous. If someone said that to me I’d walk away , or stop talking about footy , as i would know that person has no idea .

I expect the 3 D's to be the bottom teams Dogs Dragqueens or Donkeys with the other 2 fighting them hard all the way

You know what guys, the penny has just dropped for me...these imbecile media moguls have all assumed that because Benji wasnt offered a contract(lets face it he WAS the WTs in many peoples eyes) that we are headed for doomsville and because Harry played so brilliantly for us(which he did and I cant praise him enough for his efforts)that we are on the rack....Well they have forgot that there is life after Benj and Harry,we have got a great DH in J.Liddle who is busting to pay the club back for their support while he was out injured and we have recruited well with experience and young guns coming up....WE ALSO HAVE MADGE and he aint gunner let anyone put this club down.....

Hah!
One drip on the news mentions WTs & spoon in the same sentence and everyone's crapping themselves.
I believe it was a story on Brooks getting a stable halves partners and an.iff the cuff comment

We are going to need to play well above ourselves to get a Top 8 spot ......10th -13th would be a reasonable expectation imo

A few injuries and who knows either way .....

The bit that makes me laugh in some on the spoon commentary is the mention of lack of leadership- Mbye has stepped down and Tamou will take the reins. Tamou- the ex Penrith captain who led them into finals contention. Marshall occassionally led on the field but he al too often could not rally the team for that final effort to get them over the line. IMHO we now finally have a leader.
