What about Marshall??

I love Benji, he can say what he wants, he gave his all for this club until they did not want him.

The rumours of Benji and Robbie not being the bestest of friends was actually true, so for Benji to defend Farah it means something.

They may not have been best buds but we're not enemies. They shared many great things together as players here and that always galvanises any footballing relationship.
Off the field they were polar opposites much like Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist. That said you must remember the day Ribs mum passed on…Benji openly wept on the field during the minutes silence.

Anyway Benji knows Robbie better than most. I enjoyed listening to his insight and take him for his word. It wasn't a glowing comment but was from the heart and backed Farah up.

Benji has his view which is fine. Not sure what all the fuss is about. It's a business, take out the emotion and it's incredibly easy to deal with.

If Wests Tigers don't treat this salary cap issue as a business they will be kicked out of the competition just as my old club Newtown was back in 1982\. It is also very interesting that Mick Potter has stated in the media that the real issue is no more room in Wests Tigers salary cap if the club wants to prepare to be a force in future years.

Both Robbie and Benji have proven these back-ended deals as really poor business decisions.

If what Benji has said is correct - both he and Robbie took significant pay cuts (i.e., 200k each of the next two years is simply what Robbie's owed) - then he needs to stay, no question, from an ethical point of view.

If not, I'd be really nervous if I were Brooks, Teddy or Moses about whether their deals will eventuate.

That's the last thing we need.

I've never hated him. Or criticized him for leaving. People need to realise that unless you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes you simply can't know what they deal with etc.

As for his comments on the Robbie situation, I enjoyed hearing his POV. He knows the deal.

From what I've been told they didn't hate each other, they just fought a lot. I've got mates I fight with a lot. It was no kind of permanent issue, Robbie and Benji just did stuff that annoyed each other.

Me too. He's mates with Benji just not like close close close mates. Most of Farah's close mates are middle eastern aussies. I have some mutual friends and hence i see some of Robbie's FB updates. Plus he's grown up in the area and we're the similar, same age. About the two having a toxic relationship is utterly spurious.

I used to have dealings with a player manager who had some clients at the Tigers a few years ago.

He told me at the time that Benji and a few of the boys were pretty nonchalant about training and liked to have a good time off the field. While Farah was focused 1000% on football and didn't appreciate that others didn't think the same way.

Most of the players at the time took one side or another, however there were no serious blowup like what the media has portrayed. Just different factions within the playing group.

Most people could have put 2 + 2 together and come up with the same conclusion I'd say, and I never heard anything about Robbie and Benji feuding or 'hating' each other.

I would think avoiding being drawn into this issue altogether would be a prudent move for a player on the cusp of playing finals football.
