What are referees on ?

I was at the game tonight and in all honesty tonight's game, the refereeing was the worst I've ever seen. Can forumers please tell me there view watching from home and what did others that attended the game think. That dominant referee ( can't remember his name, thank goodness) can't keep officiating. Tell me this, how is it they're never certain with try's, so they nearly always go up stairs, but on the run they think they make the correct rulings but hardly get them right.
Tonight we got ruled on a knock on, where the ball popped up but never hit the ground, the ref deemed it travelled forward, that's the ref controlling the 10 metres, yet I was sitting in line, it looked like play on. The other ref who had a better view and was in our back line only 10 metres away had no problem with it, nor a signal from the touchie. Our game is doomed if we don't get these guys answering their actions. I'm sick of the old saying, there only human they make mistakes. To me it's their only human, some must be throwing games.

I've been banging on ad nauseum about this for weeks - we are ALWAYS on the wrong end of the penalty count in matches this year, with ridiculous decisions going against us every single week. Potter either needs to address our poor discipline, once and for all, or arrange a meeting with the refs boss to get some clarification on rule interpretation asap. As you said, tigermaniac, our game is doomed if something is not done soon - the team can't keep having to play against the odds football every week without it taking its toll on them.

Campo got ruled a knock on late when he kicked it with 6 to go but he didnt knock on we got the rub of the green there

I was at the pub drinking, so I won't make comment on tonight. But I will say, it seems to me that certain teams often get the advantage of the close calls. The refs seem to have a preconceived idea of who deserves the penalties.

You only have to look at State of Origin history, with the home team often winning the penalty count, to realise refs struggle to be impartial.

Had to laugh at Sticky whinging about the referees in the press conference. Says he was dumbfounded as to why Tapau's "high tackle" on Milford wasn't penalised. Clown.

Referees were very average at best tonight.

I sat out there tonight in the freezing cold and thought why do i bother. It was an another embarrassment for the code.

Spent about half an hour watching the men in pink go upstairs or just generally making horrendous errors. If we are in the entertainment industry I just think more and more punters will be turned away.

The game took over 2 hours tonight, there were at least 3-4 huge stoppages where the refs were just watching the big screen with no idea what had occured. Often it was obvious but the video would have 20 looks at it. Sometimes the refs made a decision and then bewilderingly changed their mind.

We had a great win tonight and im glad i went. However there is no way i would go and watch two other teams play and sit there for over hours watching the men in pink refer every single call to the video ref and make continual shocking errors.

Good call Ink. That was a terrible decision. I thought we copped some rubbish calls up until that point. It was a terrible call, but it made up for the few dud calls we received, not just tonight but throughout the year.

Sticky whinging about the refs? I only saw the second half but they got the majority of 50/50 calls.

The fox sports commentators dissection of is it or isn't it a try is a pain as well.

before the video ref, referees made blunders .

footy fans whinged about it of course,but got on with it.
The media,fans and the clubs insisted the game needed video refs.

The game has created its own monster
