I’m a bit more concerned about it than an investment bubble and people doing their money … anyone working in an office building in the city like I used too won’t have a job … maybe sooner than 10:years!

Tax the Rich they will move offshore then there will be no jobs for people to employ here. This will never happen, governments all they care about is enriching themselves, Australia is a country where you take an extract as much as possible and when everything fu**s up the rich can bounce. Honestly only chance anyone had and get rich themselves that's it.
"If you really want to do something you will achieve it".
What a corny, worn out and throwaway line that is.

Not everyone, but some people DO need a lot of support.
Do you think the gazillion charities that exist don't support people, the sort of support our Govt. should be doing right now and previous Govt's should have been doing but seem to only be interested in helping/ supporting and propping up their rich mates.
Do you think the homeless aren't a Govt. responsibility.
Concerned people have formed groups that have bought old buses and with a lot of hard work turned them into sleep buses where the people that are down on their luck often just through bad life choices, can sleep in a clean bed some nights and with a bit of dignity.
What about the vans that have 3 or 4 washer/dryers installed so the homeless can actually wash their clothes.
What about the group that produce 'sleep tents for the homeless' and rely on people just like you and me to donate $$$ to pay for them.
What about the various religious organisations that feed people.
All of this going on while a couple of politicians sit outside Parlt. House in Canberra and smoke big fat cigars while saying 'poor people don't have cars as they don't have the $$$ to pay for the petrol'.
What a couple of self-righteous smug pieces of 💩.
99% of the rich and/or powerful don't care about people that need a helping hand.

I honestly don't know how you can justify satire when talking about people that are worse off than us.

I can't agree with this at all jst.
The idea that taxing the rich automatically drives them offshore is a scare tactic that's been repeated for decades, but the evidence doesn't back it up.
Countries with stronger progressive tax systems still have thriving economies and plenty of investment.
What actually drives jobs away is when governments let wealth concentrate unchecked, leaving ordinary people without disposable income to support businesses.
Saying the rich will "bounce back" ignores the fact that they rely on infrastructure, workers, and markets here in Aust., they can't just pack up and take all of that with them.
If anything, fairer taxation keeps the system sustainable so jobs and opportunities don't collapse for everyone else.
You're a very lucky man Tito to be born with the natural skills required and then to be able to expand those skills to be a top construction tradie.

To me, this is a perfect example of what's gone wrong with our democratic system.
It shows how bloody mean and nasty the people that hold the wealth actually are.
Another perfect example of the rich wanting to stay rich, and stuff everyone else.

What "is not helpful to this discussion" for mine, is pretending that anyone other than the right is overwhelmingly responsible for our current disparity.
How about you come back to me on positive legislative measures that the right, both here and elsewhere has put in place and then we can have a discussion. Please search it up, along with those opposite. I'll wait.
I have hardly looked at home grown politics for 3 or so years, simply because I know that those in power are always moving the needle back towards relative equality, even though I want a lot more done and a lot quicker too. Still, for starters, the current mob lifted up care workers, made the coalition's tax cuts a hell of a lot fairer and still provided a couple of surpluses. More recently, we have seen bulk billing practices undergoing a resurrection, plus just this past week, student loan debt being substantially cut and an environment reform agreement.
Plenty more in between too, but not enough for me.

I'm no genius. I'm a simple sales rep in the construction industry. And the older I get, the more I start to hear some of the warnings my Dad used to tell me.
1- While politics remains a popularity contest & not a contract where people are held to account- policy will almost always gear toward getting re-elected over progress.
2- Any tax system that has taxes on taxes is broken
3- The government should be responsible for keeping people off streets, alive & educated. The rest that they get involved in stunts progress. Schools, hospitals, minimum living conditions
4- When groups, unions & activists hold sway, progress halts
5- If a government hires more people than the private sector- you go broke. Government workers are paid with tax. If the majority of workers are being taxed to pay for their own wages...
We haven't had 'progressive' politics in ANY country for so long. And what we see/face now is society too afraid to start again, try new ideas or make tough decisions because- everyone needs to satisfy themselves immediately.

I don’t need to come back to you …I already told you …there has been no decent legislation from either side of politics in Australia in the past 50 years on this topic of wealth disparity that is ever increasing with elites ( which includes Labor politicians) getting richer … we aren’t talking about someone earning $200k a year paying more tax …the problem is someone earning $10 million paying a pittance
Bulk billing …give me a spell ! And tiny surpluses when debt is increasing to a Trillion dollars is meaningless…this will be hanging around the neck of future generations
What about passing a law to make Multi National Companies pay some tax ?
What about passing a law to get rid of Trusts and other measures used by the s rich to avoid fax ?
Neither side touches these issues …they are both as bad as each other… “moving a needle “ is meaningless when major changes are needed …you keep blaming one side for all the problems though

I'm in the bucket of doing well too. No one is talking about that. There are structural issues with extreme wealth that needs govt intervention.
We also have hard workers at low paid jobs like police, fire, nurses, teachers. If everyone chased money, we'd have a pretty average society

I’m really hoping my kids follow suit and do trades.
There is such a shortage and it’s because people want to work in offices or be influencers.
Pay the price. Of course those things are going to get dominated by AI. But buildings and whatever can’t be built without trades. And quality trades especially with how much of a crackdown there has been by the Building Commissioner.
So when I hear all these people say they love to work from home, and going to the beach for breakfast before they start their day and probably do less than 20 hours per week while getting paid for 40, don’t expect me to feel sorry for you because - oh, I’m going to have to move from Bondi! How can I live with myself? I can’t afford my rent!
Just remember, when it was COVID, what industries did they keep going - construction and childcare. Sorry actually they closed construction for 2 weeks in 2021. My wife and I were both on the front line going to work everyday with all the masks and spacing etc while people sat on their asses from home.
Summary - I have no sympathy for anyone that’s crying poor. There are plenty of opportunities to thrive here. I don’t know how much travel people on here have done but Australia is the greatest country in the world to live. Easy.
