What do we have going for us?

This is coming from a deadset Wests Tigers supporter, I live and breathe this club. My spare time is spent on this forum and I couldn't fathom supporting another club. But who do we support? Do we support the Wests Tigers?

Years pass, our roster changes, our coach changes, our board changes, our CEO changes, our chairman changes, our colours change, our jerseys change, everything has changed.

The one thing that remains is the Wests Tigers emblem. The emblem that not a single player who wore our jersey today respects, the very emblem that was held in high regard by our club legends. Benji Marshall, Robbie Farah, Liam Fulton to name a few. No matter how poorly they played, they would play their heart out and lift the team morale and spirit. Yes, their last few seasons were poor but they tried.

Watching the team today, and in fact every other day, it is so clear that there is no spirit. No one wants to play. Our forwards are humiliating and are the joke of the NRL. Mitchell Moses, who is supposedly our star play maker, commanding big dollars and holding the club to ransom has assisted one try this entire season and that was off the back of a fluke drop ball.

Last weeks performance of Moses was disgusting, his selfishness arguably cost us the game. He was playing for himself in an attempt of increasing his market value. Well it didn't pay off and he scored one try of numerous attempts.

James Tedesco is the only player who I can say tries out there. He puts his body on the line and unfortunately every play goes to him making his plays repetitive. He and Nofoaluama accumulated more together meters than our forward pack combined today. Does that not say something?

Aaron Woods who should be our inspirational captain has shown nothing but a lazy attitude, for all I care he could walk out that door mid season. He is not a captain and he won't ever be one. A real captain leads both on and off the field. I haven't seen him speak to the players in an attempt to fire them up, not once this season. He is an embarrassment to the club off the field and in the media. Everyone wants Tedesco and Moses to make comments regarding their future, saying that they want to stay. How can they do this when their captain can't even lead by example.

We as supporters and members, pay our hard earned dollars to watch the team play, to watch the team put some god damn effort in. For weeks now, they haven't been trying and haven't cared.

So many people are relying on Ivan Cleary to be appointed as coach but what happens if that doesn't eventuate? Are we left with another rookie coach? Is it Todd Payten? Do the "Big 4" continue to run the asylum?

Our training facilities are not up to NRL standards, our players aren't up to NRL standards, we don't have a coach, our Chairwomen doesn't have a clue, we haven't made the finals in years and this will continue this year.

What can be done? Unfortunately not much.

I 100% agree re Woods. He has set a bad example off the paddock this year.

People get angry cause i mentioned Farah. Maybe I should have mentioned Fulton, or Heighto.

We just seem to lack passion. Players don't seem to play for the jersey. The body language and energy today was the worst i have even seen it. Everyone was so flat.

The bad thing is i think the worst is still to come. We will cop worse hidings then today.

The spoon might be what the club needs to do a proper introspection of how pathetic the joint is right now.

The wave of depression that sweeps over every Tigers fan after a loss. It's such a familiar feeling. Don't worry mate, every Tigers fan feels the same way at the moment.

Good optimism Tacky, I'm very much the same. But it's beyond a loss. It's consistent floggings, the players out there are playing for their wages not for the club.

You seem like an enthusiastic Wests Tigers fan, I am sure you would have seen our performance against the Raiders in round 16, 2014.

There it is if you missed it. That is the last time our I recall our side playing for eachother, that was all heart.

Wish they still had the like button Milky great summary of the club, agreed on all points.

Thanks BT, very frustrated. Whenever we seem to think our club is moving forward, it's moving backwards.

Milky I agree with the lot.
What can be done?
As I referred to on another page awhile ago; the Tigers need to recruit properly and create a buzz with culture and excited players. We need a strong and charismatic coach/leader who can sell players and fans the dream.
When klopp joined Liverpool he said:
"Either you join an already successful club and surf the wave, or you join a club and say that you want to create something very special."
He recruited well and created a positive culture almost singlehandedly. Win or lose, the faith there is real.
Right now WT are stuffed. We need strong management and strong recruitment. That's kinda all!

I dunno I think the team tried really hard today, I saw a lot of players putting their body on the line. Problem was Dragons just waited for us to make mistakes and took advantage. I wasn't seeing heartless football out there, I was seeing out-played footballers, and the harder they tried the worse it got.

Even Tedesco, his timing's not right, how many times has he dropped the ball on the tryline in the last few rounds? 4 or 5? And being 2 steps offisde from kicks etc. He is trying but his involvement is mixed up, he had a few poor passes and kicks, Dragons swarmed him when he got the footy. The team is in a funk, they need to discover some new momentum and get wins on the board.

About the chairwomen - a chair person of a footie club should not have less knowledge of footie than myself but it could be the case she fits that scenario. (I know F2B and Ink that it is not about you know who)

I do remember that match. But by the end of 2014 we were getting flogged consistently as well.

Don't forget in 2014 the Sharks got the wooden spoon, they were wrapped up in a drug scandal and their coach was suspended, along with half their roster. They were rugby leagues biggest basket case. 2015 they made the semi-finals. 2016 they won the premiership. If the Sharks can do that, we have a chance of rebuilding.

We should have a new coach tomorrow. We have talented yet incredibly inconsistent players. Ivan might not change the team overnight but I believe we have better days ahead. Jason Taylor was never going to get us a premiership. All it takes is a good coach to pull the players together and get them playing for each other.

They tried mate.

However there was zero body language.

There was very little talk.

We don't look like a team one bit.

Individuals are trying but there is no spirit as a unit.

I agree. We definitely lost what mojo we had. Although I get the feeling that if we get a couple of lucky breaks the flood gates will open. Not sure it will last more than a game though. Hopefully some good signings & re-signings will eventuate this week!

Unfortunately there's no short term solution. We suck and things will get worse before they get better.

I agree there never seems to be enough talk out there. I'm a mug footballer but I used to scream and shout when I played… even at the sideline I can't hear the players doing this. Are they so pro they don't need to communicate?

You look at Cronk and Thurston, they are constantly pointing and shouting and grabbing blokes to pass on messages.

I don't see Mitchell Moses doing any of this, Brooks either. Maybe all this talk that he and Brooks could "reach each other's minds" as kids, they started to believe it, believed the other players could read their minds too.

Esp with some of the kick chases, not all bad kicks today but the chases were horrible, like the players had no idea it was coming, 5th tackle and all.

I agree, I thought they put in today.
