What do we need?

After watching our performances very closely lately, I've been trying to figure out the type of player we need to complete our team.

Imo we lack a big intimidating forward, who looks to offload and creates momentum (just like that Nelson bloke from storm)

Also a winger, that takes the ball up well and has good defensive reads who's good in the air.

Would love to hear the other forum members opinion.
 
To be frank a few NRL quality players backs and forwards ,there are quite a few pretenders in the side ATM.
 
We definitely need a winger, centre, and a good secondrower, plus a selection team that picks players on merit and performance.
 
A centre, a winger and a 2nd rower, one of whom needs to be able to kick goals. Ethan Lowe has kicked for the cowboys in the past. I am not sure whether he is stop gap or full time quality
 
someone to pay Robbie 600k next year and for him to sign with them, so that we actually have some funds to recruit players above the "fringe first grafer" standard

I think JAC over Rankin would be the place to start. We don't need a huge change in personnel. It's the coach that needs to change.

Can not agree mate ..if Taylor gets punted at seasons end no big deal ,but there are some very average players in this team ,there has to be at least 4 to 5 quality players brought in to be competitive to be frank.
 
I would be recruiting players that add something we don't have - consistency. We have brilliance but lack the type of players that can win a grinding hard game.
 
Talking players we need in priority order

1\. Left winger
2\. Back Rower - Although this may be Aloia/lovett in a year I'm not sure but still room on the bench
3\. Centre

For me our 2017 side should look like this

Centres and wingers. Our guys are fringe first graders, you could get away with one or two but not all four.
 
ET needs to play in the 13 and not play any hooker.
We need to select one hooker to play 80 minutes (Cherro, Liddle or Farah).
Two props and two second rowers on the bench (Ava, Felise, Lovett, MCK)
Halatau needs to retire legend but past it.

In terms of next year we need:
A strong winger (Brenko Lee, Curtis Rona, David Mead).
Backrower with some size (Ethan Lowe, Asofa Solomon, Shaun Lane)
Payout and release Farah & Ballin and bring back De Gois on a 1 year contract until Liddle is ready.
Bring back some low cost former Tigers (James Gavet, Nathan Brown)
 
1) Ryan James - supposedly he's a Tigers fan and he's an absolute gem of a player. Should / will someday play for NSW & Australia.

2) Abraham Papalii - Currently at the roosters, NZ junior - will toughen our pack up a bit IMO. Looking to lock down a first grade position somewhere.

3) Nathan Brown - return of one of our lost sons. Already close with the playing group, was a bit of a fat slob when he was here in the past … Now is a tackle machine. Aggressive player and will surely toughen our pack that is widely considered to be soft.

4) Kelepi Tanginoa - Has the size. I'd have Mr. Sue take him under his wing as an apprentice and turn him into the hard hitter that we need (ala Taumalolo)

5) Tony Satini - He's at Manly, playing NSW cup.... Too good for that, reminds me a bit of Simona who also wasted away for a while in state cup which he too was far too good for.
 
All we need is a goal kicker who kicks at 80% plus consistently - I don't care what position he plays. Had the score tonight got to 26 - 24 with a couple of reasonably easy kicks at NRL standard we would have gone on and won that game. Top teams win games by converting tries - we don't.

We also need a goal kicker who can tackle , has speed , can break the line ….........
