What grinds your gears about us?

Every time we as a team do something well, we let the other side off the hook with a penalty.

e.g. we kick to the corner and trap the fullback 2 meters out from his line. We have a good kick chase ready to demolish the opposition who are struggling to get back onside to take hitups and….marker penalty.

Absolutely infuriates me.

That no-one takes us seriously because we have been so poorly run and we aren't prepared to do the tough stuff. It goes right back to when Bellamy wouldn't coach us. I would love for us to be physical.

Most of us are of the same opinion i.e poor team selections, conceding dumb penalties, terrible defensive reads, losing concentration around the 35-45 min mark.
I don't pretend to be a coach but if we all can see these problems, why can't the coaching department see them or why can't they fix it.
There has to be other issues at hand that are preventing these problems getting from fixed. Can we blame the coach????? It's not like it's only starting to occur now.

Seeing other forward packs being so aggressive then there is ours constantly being dominated.

Who fears Lovett, Buchanan, Cherrington?

We need bigger, aggresive, stronger players.

The 5mins either side of halftime, for some reason we just always conceed points during this time.

It just shows our attitude, physical match fitness and team work isnt in place for the full game.

That is my biggest gripe, but Taylor selects such a crap bench and uses a poor rotation of that bad bench, which coincidently is in that time frame when our starting forwards are on the bench.
We need to pick different players, or get a coach who will, players are under no pressure to hold their spot for next week, so therefore no accountability. :bash

The thing that grinds me the most is threads like this (no offence to OP) that makes me think about the team I love and the massive amounts of deficiencies we have even though I stick my head in the ground every year thinking we've got the players to mix it with the big boys only to be disappointed and throwing my remote at the TV nearly every week in frustration… anyway rant over!!! :sign:

Yeah spot on mate. Would love to be able to beat the crap out of other teams. Would also like to see team mates stick up for each other. Even if it is handbags, I want them to run 30 metres to get involved and intimidate, but we have no one that does that

We get rid of powerful players Fifita's, Teo, Taupau, O'Donnel, Moa, Jeff Lima we have history in this department. Sue would be the next to leave if we are true to form.

I think the easier question would be what doesn't grind my gears about the Wests Tigers

I just can't believe how often both on and off field this club makes the wrong call

1\. Not playing finals football for 5 years
2\. Salary Cap management debacles
3\. Being told as supporters and members that we have to be patient

Knowing full well that we haven't really improved and that the above cycle will likely to continue in the foreseeable future.

Who would you say is responsible for making the wrong calls?

Was it this year we are supposed to win the Comp?
Last year was meant to be Top 4…...2014 Top 8 , while Mayer knew full well the mess we were really in.

Geo ??

Everyone players , board , coaches , our whole set up

When the board can't be made accountable by the members , something is seriously wrong

Some players can't be blamed as really there not 1st graders just a victim of our Salary Cap woes. But some of our players need a reality check and be told there not bigger than the club and that if they don't like it? State Cup is there destination followed by the exit door. Sick of the boys club.

Coaching??? Non existent might aswell put me there.

Our set up??? It's a mess….How long is Balmain going to be allowed to get extension for? People want closure and our Organisation is suffering for it.

Board??? trying to please all the fans and loosing revenue by not playing at Homebush, piss weak.

In the big picture, it's team selections. Obviously, the continued inclusion of Buchanan was a prime example, followed by persistence with Lovett, Rankin and Brooks. None of these guys are playing at first grade level and, at times. have been like a millstone around the team's neck with their ineffectiveness and ineptitude. We don't have much in the way of replacements but sometimes sackings need to happen anyway just to shake up the squad and send a message that mediocrity will not be accepted.

On the playing field, I'd go for dropped balls or ineffectual kicks early in the tackle count when the Tigers are pressing the opposition line. Frittering away possession and opportunities through forced passes or ridiculous stab kicks and ill directed cross kicks are infuriating and waste so many scoring chances!

if they are not going to play at home grounds how are fans going to connect with their local team? Via the pokies. I have never understood about how Aussies follow English soccer teams, they probably don't even follow Aussie soccer teams. It looks stupid on TV seeing about 50,000 empty seats at Homebush with no atmosphere. I get more home atmosphere watching the Byron Bay local team. But of course money talks so…

**When the board can't be made accountable by the members , something is seriously wrong**

The people you call "members" have no legal standing re the board, because they are simply ticket holders with no financial investment into the Wests Tigers. The people with the legal standing to change the board are Wests Ashfield and Balmain Rugby League, who have a financial interest in the Wests Tigers and are in a position to vote against the board.
