Been really impressed by McIllwrick, we haven't lost anything from Farah.

Yes you keep both. I think McIlrwick would re-sign having been given a chance by the club and if given a 2 year option i certainly think he'll take it.
Liddle - towards the end of the season you'd want to start looking at an extension. His defense last night was outstanding. Took Taumololo down one-on-one right on the line. The bigger, stronger and more experienced he gets and he'll be an elite player. But i wouldn't rush his minutes yet. Playing 30 odd mins a game is good for now and MM is a perfect foil: Cheap, skillful and hard working, but not an 80 min player that will get cranky if he's not playing full games.

Yeah that sounds like a good plan to me. I know we're only 6 games into the season but I'd be looking to lock McIlwrick up for a couple of years. If he keeps up his form he may start to attract interest from the Titans or the Eels (whichever of the two doesn't end up with Peats). He's a really good second string hooker to have on the books while we're transitioning Liddle into big minutes in first grade.
The other advantage with McIlwrick in our team (which I think someone has already mentioned) is his size and defensive ability. He could easily spell ET at lock which is a good thing given ET's work rate. That could be through an early sub of Liddle for ET (McIlwrick staying on) or a late sub (McIlwrick for ET) depending on how the game is playing out.
