I hope we make the finals. I hope we win the comp. I'm completely fine though with the team looking like they are giving it a shot and we appear well managed in relation to developing a good team in the future.

Injuries can always ruin your season. I think we are looking much better managed at the moment. Our cap isn't a complete mess and we still have some of the problems that Cleary and to a lesser extent Taylor created that we need to fix.

@tig_prmz sorry mate I don't really follow. I think Pascoe and Lee would definitely have been around the club long enough to feel this is a failure.

I'm definitely not going to lay into Madge either this is just the beginning for him I hope.

Anytime you change coach it takes a coupe of years to sort out the squad and support staff. We keep hitting reset every few years and this had contributed to sustained failure.

What if we signed the forwards we need to sign in 2020 and then pick up Latrell at the actual end of his contract in 2021 with the players we lose at 2020 end ???

Forwards are a hell of a lot easier to sign than a player like Mitchell. They don’t come around very often.

You do realize that fans don't play right?

Fans can be as positive as ever and it won't make a lick of difference to where their team finished in the ladder, so why does it bother anyone if fans aren't positive?

Yes I do realise that. I also realise that the club has managed to turn a few turd sandwiches into positives the last couple of seasons with Cleary bailing and picking up Madge and Matterson splitting and likely landing Latrell.

Maybe we have been conditioned to always see the worst but we're actually heading the right way for a change.

Not too many. But we have never signed a player like Mitchell. Ever.

True we haven’t in some time signed anyone of Mitchell’s caliber but we have had many with caliber and unfortunately we haven’t been able to give them a coach since Sheens and as a result we missed the boat.

Potter, JT were not up to it, Cleary was our great white hope and he failed, I’m now of the belief that he is a myth and if he doesn’t do anything with Penrith in the next 2 years he will be gone and most likely for ever as an NRL 1st grade coach.

Madge is the first coach with credential since Sheens and I feel that he may be able to turn it around for us but we have to give him time. A player like Mitchell is the corner stone. He comes on board and we stand a better chance of recruiting players like him in their respective positions and they will make some of our existing roster look like superstars.

No, he was very proactive. In fact, as I recall, the first thing that he did was to undermine one of those coaches and has only recently returned since banned for six months, following another poor decision on the same matter.

We've gone through 5-6 coaches, 4-5 CEOs and 4 board chairmen and 3 different board since our last finals appearance (don't quote me on the above, just an estimate)

Since Madge and Lee are the newer heads in their department, I guess Pascoe may be the one to take the fall but how long can we continue failing? what's the next step, just keep cycling through the above?
