I think we have a game plan, just not the cattle to execute it.

If that's the case @mike shouldn't Madge be working out a plan our blokes CAN follow?
Gees...what do they do all week at training?
Seems to me they duck behind the shed and play tiddlywinks.

Wow I just saw the stats and we actually won the penalty count 7-1 and the 6 agains 9-3 and we still bloody lost? Finally we get a ref who hands us the game on a platter and we can’t even capitalise, I give up.

I've deleted it now but I just commented on another thread re:Cowboys, basically asking how a team that was so poor just a month ago, now look competitive and exiting to watch? Is it effort or morale? Gameplan or squad?
There's still some issues with them but they look to be playing to their strengths and confident in each other. Even a depleted Roosters team were tough as nails last night and their defence was a good effort, all things considered.

I think Payten is showing how much of a good coach he is.

I enjoyed that game ..
It was enterprising .

We often look like we're defending
when we have the ball the players are that flat... I learnt in u/9s yiu need to get deep to be able to run onto the ball... You're just an easy target for the defense otherwise.

Simpkins.... Dunno what all the fuss was about him

Brooks... Needs to be closer to the dummy half and his supports deep

One out running really puts the defense in two minds... Not!

We have a 6 who doesn't pass... A 7 that's probably the best tackler in the club but can't kick

Appreciate the response thanks @gallagher.
It's baffling to me that some of these boys were the laziest or clumsiest players(in attack and defence) early in the year and now they look to be playing to the best of their ability.
It's not just them either. Look at Broncos when they played Titans and Penrith - though they lost.
Make no mistake these teams have been lapped up but to me it seems they know their strengths and are capable of playing to them despite inexperience or whatnot.

Luciano
Simpkin
No cohesion at all ..

Answer Maguire refuses to employ professional assistants ... Morris would be approached tomorrow if for me ,but that will not happen .

I don't wanna hear that the defense needs to improve.

Go back and watch from the 8th minute to the 12th minute.

That is why we lost. Start to finish. Alpha & Omega.

Sure, I get your point. Totally agree. I suppose what I meant is that for this particular post I just didn't want to focus on that glaring weakness.

If you don’t have the cattle it doesn’t matter what plan you come up with you are always going to fail. Many in our squad would never make the starting line up at other clubs. Until that changes the on field results are not going to change.

Luke Brooks. Starts and ends there.
We have no structure because he has no idea what he's doing.

Yep
We have no shape whatsoever

Yep and that puts pressure on the rest of the team. Nobody seems to know who is getting the ball. Brooks seems to just make up his mind on the spot.

You hit the nail on the head, but I dont know if that is all Brooks fault. We have no depth, barely anyone in motion, and if we do its one man out rubbish.
Not backing Brooks, but if you want him to read the line and put players into holes, they need to be running into them. We hate on him for not picking good options, but even if he was playing eyes up, he needs to be able to expect the runners to be there.
We are not giving our playmakers much. Doueihi looks like a god because he does it all himself. Its rubbish

Bang on mate.

No players in motion so we don't force the opposition into making any defensive decisions. Brooks, despite largely taking poor options, isn't given enough to work with. If we just had a few players either side of the ball every other run it would dramatically improve how many line breaks we make. Would probably gas our forwards less too.

At least 5 others in this thread have outlined the exact same thing. Crazy that a bunch of fans on a forum can see the issue but the team/coaching staff can't.

Great points, and then Garner does run a line into a hole, Brooks hits him in the middle of the chest and because Braiff bags him, many here pile on as well.

I am thinking that Brooksy, no matter how much he tries, just can’t execute Madge’s game plan. It’s almost case of irreconcilable differences. LB is not a bad player and would probably excel in the right environment but I feel it may be time to part - for both our benefit.
