What song are you listening to?

I've got a couple of bootlegs but found most recordings pretty average so stopped getting them. I'm interested to hear which ones you think are good.
Do have a few of the rarer covers and overseas covers. Got a quad version of Dark Side.
I worked at Ashwoods for a few months back in the early 80s. Lots of hard to get stuff came through quite regularly.

Most of the bootleg quality is mediocre at best and the best bootleg i had was a Led Zeppelin one which somebody swiped off me 20 years ago,needless to say its impossible to replace

Most was recorded on tape decks taken into the concerts. I'll have a listen to mine again when I get back from India.

At the time, my favourites were Hendrix, the Cream, Rory Galagher, Zappa, the Doors, Vanilla Fudge, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple (in the rock), Black Sabbath, 10 YA and Pink Floyd. When Pink Floyd changed their direction, they were still an OK band, but (IMHO) not in the class with the others. To me, they were sold out!
I discovered Miles Davis (In a silent way, Jack Johnson, Bitches Brew), John Coltrane, Archie Shep, Pharoah Sanders, Sun Ra and progressed to the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Cecil Taylor, and Anthony Braxton 😉
And then "back to the roots" Big Bill Broonzy, Willie Dixon, Sonny Terry, Brownie McGee, Pete Seeger😍

You certainly have tastes that are very similar to mine and the earliest memories of mine on good music was Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday (her blues rather than jazz) Buddy Holly and Edith Piaf.All the bands you mention i enjoy and listened to when i was young and still do.Even though i have all the Pink Floyd albums and enjoy them all i thought their music became a more anthem style and deeper during and after the Meddle album and i agree the loss of Barrett was difficult but the band still flourished.Pink Floyd in many ways are similar to Tangerine Dream in the fact they changed their style at times in their career but always seemed to come out ahead.Vanilla Fudge are probably one of the most underappreciated bands of all time and i still have their cd's kicking around somewhere in here,i was lucky enough to see Jethro Tull 3 times live and they where superb.
Theses day's i find myself listening to a lot of japanese rock/fusion as it probably producing an extension of the music i enjoy most and i honestly believe they are leading good music these days.Japanese metal is probably the best around these days
