His bands were incubators of the cool and fusion/jazz rock musicians (Bill Evans, MJQ, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, Heath Brothers, Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin Chick Corea, Billy Cobham, Herbie Hancock etc.)

whos who of the avangarde jazz: Lester Bowie, Roscoe Mitchel, Muhal Abrams, Joseph Jarman, Malachi Favors, Don Moye joined on a few tracks with Cecil Taylor.
I so them live in Europe in 1984, one of the best concerts I ever attended!
