What song are you listening to?

@Tigerlily Saw Free at Randwick Racecourse in early 70's. Manfred Mann and Deep Purple on the same show. Ah for those days again.

I was way too young to go, but my brother went to that gig. Listened to plenty of the music growing up as he was born in 54 and was right into music. He may well have been the first mobile DJ around, making up his own gear and carting it around in a big old yank tank hearse that still had the coffin rollers and all that intact.

Catching a bit of Led Zeppelin via you tube today.

@Tigerlily First time i have heard that cover of it and its pretty good. The Billie Holliday version has more raw emotion in it which is hardly surprising considering that when it was produced these terrible crimes where still happening.
Thanks for uplifting that version it was good to listen to

@Tigerlily is a rockstar in this thread, keys into everyone's tastes with awesome recommendations.

Keep up the awesome work, my easter has been about beers, family, food and great music!

@formerguest Venues for bigger crowds back in the 70's were pretty sparse. Randwick had quite a few concerts. I saw Slade/Status Quo/Lindisfarne/Caravan, Elton John, CCR. I saw Zeppelin at the Showground. Most of the bands i saw were at the Hordern but it was limited capacity. There were also a few at The Capitol Theatre.
Was also at the Elvis Costello fiasco at the Regent Theatre late 70's :
