Thanks mate. A first for me, hearing anew PJ song on the WTF.

Sounds 80’s or they must have been listening to talking heads when writing it?

Still love it.

Eddie Vedder has always had some new wave influences and I think that is it coming to the fore there. He is a big Devo fan so I wasn't has surprised when I heard rumours that this song had strong new wave inspirations. I like it but don't think it will be one of my favourites. I am very interested to see what they do with it live though. I could see Eddie doing some looping like he does on arc in that end section to create the different layers to his vocal which would be pretty cool!

It will be interesting to see what Matt does with the drums live.

I’m actually likening the evolution of the band. I don’t want another 10 or V’s or Vitalogy.

Can’t wait to hear the rest.

Apparently he first did the drum on a drum machine, Stone walked in while he was mucking around with and laid down the bass track, a couple of weeks later Jeff found it and put the synth over the top and then a couple of weeks later Mike did the same with the guitar parts. Finally Ed laid down the vocals, after that was done Matt decided to redo the drum part and play the drum parts for it but try to make it sound electronic which he pulled off. It's a really different way for Pearl Jam to put a song together and record.

Jesus Ponyo that stuff isn't even music🤢

Mate, i play in a country rock band and frequently have people pull faces at me when i say that forbidden "country" word.
Then after hearing the stuff we play they generally change their tune pretty quick.
I always say thre are two things in this world that really grind my gears.
1. People who claim to "hate" entire genres of music (but then usally list two or three artists from said genre that they like)
2. People who claim that Rap is music...........

Cover me up. Jason Isbell South Eastern album love the whole album

I went to a songwriters retreat a few years ago and everyone was raving about this Jason Isbell guy who i had never heard of. Of course i intended to check him out but never got around to it. A few months later i was reading an interview with Bob Dylan, he was asked who he thought the best songwriter in the world was. He answered, Jason Isbell by magnitudes. So i thought i better check him out, that's a fair endorsement.
Love him! So well structured, he regularly breaks the rules but still makes it works which is a hard thing to do. Very talented guy and has written so many songs for other artists that most of the population digs his music without even knowing it!

What word is that @patwalker ?

Rap is music whether you like it or not. You old timers always have something to say or complain about. Just scroll past & allow it.

Corny, but some of it is dope
I’m a huge metalhead which is arguably the corniest music
Dudes at work are always giving it to me ?

Yeah, honestly. I don't mind a few country songs, I connect with blues more to be honest. But to say a certain genre of music you don't enjoy or identify with is not music because you don't like it is pure ignorance.
