Damage inc.the riff half way through is a personal favourite ?

Widely regarded as Number 1 metal album of all time. Rightly so! Was blown away when I first listened to it, aah they were the days?

Can only imagine what that was like when it was released!

Ride the lightning has always been my favourite from Metallica

You guys listen to some whack stuff (no one in particular, yet most of the users in this thread) imo. No issue with that as I’ve got many classical and not so, musical friends.

The wave you guys still surf has definitely passed though. You know lots of elderly people enjoy house, trance, rap and in particular stuff incorporating Gregorian chants and regular instruments... weird to me that I could respect so much somebody for doing/producing something that, if I’m to be honest, wouldn’t have listened to in 100 years.

Metal music is the only genre in here that I could be seen dead hearing lol - mainly for the battlefield moshes that’s all

As you guys would say for EDM ~ “no real talent” Or a UFC fighter about a boxer, etc.

Makes for riveting conversation tho

Ride The Lightning was superb also for sure.
Funny when the album kicks off with super mellow acoustic and people were "what IS this, this ain't heavy" and then the cracking Fight Fire With Fire riff starts up!
Kill 'Em All was a game-changer for me, I hadn't ever heard music I instantly loved like that before. Then they outdid themselves with RTL and then upped it again with MOP, 3 brilliant classics back to back. Metal heaven ?

Puppets by and far the best though. That's an hour of aural magic. The intro to Battery got me good as a 10 year old.

Puppets by and far the best though. That's an hour of aural magic. The intro to Battery got me good as a 10 year old.

Battery?
My first taste of Metallica was in a mate's car in high school, he was fanging it on a limestone track with "Jump In The Fiyahhhh" blowing out the stereo.....man I wish I could bottle that feeling! Pure bliss.

Can't argue about your summation of To Live Is To Die, that solo section of Hetfield's is one of the most emotive pieces of guitar you will hear.

Yep I like all the criticised albums, including Load and Reload, and St Anger. All their albums are different, and all are good.
