What song are you listening to?

It’s funny. I’ve been listening to Patience all my life, yet now that I’ve been listening to this version so much, I’ve almost forgotten exactly how it’s arranged, cos Cornell’s has melted into my brain. Gonna have to re-listen to it.

I’m really in love with Chris Cornell’s version of Patience. The walking the streets at night part gives me chills.

Heard Billie Jean Gunners? Amazing too.

Had a voice unlike any other.

Yeah I have. I like how when he starts, there’s silence, and he starts singing, and there’s still silence. It takes the audience one or two lines to place the song because the arrangement was completely different. He’s the only artist I’d give a free pass to changing arrangements, cos he seemed to nail it every time. He was a genius in that respect.

He also did a great version of crossing over both Metallica and U2’s One songs. Playing the music of U2’s version to the lyrics of Metallica’s

https://youtu.be/MG9nqWoLjns

That always cracks me up, he actually was learning the U2 song but accidently downloaded the lyrics to the Metallica song.

Strangely enough it took me a long time to get into Chris' version of it, which is really unusually for me. I just think I knew Gunners version so well that I couldn't get past the melody being different for ages. Chris was by far the best at taking someone elses song and making it his own in a very unique way.

In these crazy times, I only hope there'll be enough people in the USA who will stop and think about what is at stake before protesting or tweeting or inciting division. Is there anything more American than Springsteen covering a Dylan anthem?: Chimes of Freedom.

If only I knew how to add the video on here!! lol

I have the same problem as you @Tiger-Tragic in not knowing how to put videos on here.
My contribution of a bit of music which fits the current election situation in the good ole USA is....The Gettysburg Address performed by The Boston Pops Orchestra.
It's a stirring bit of music with the deep and meaningful spoken word by Keith Lockhart.

Hi
Whatever video you want on YouTube, when it's playing touch the screen- on the top right an upwards-facing arrow will come up-press on that then it should come up with "copy link" press on that, go to where you would normally post something on this forum- write what you want to write then push down on the screen after you've written something and it should say "paste". Press that and it will show some weird YouTube number and your video should come up. Hope that helps mate, I'm a few drinks in tonight?

Thanks a million for the tips on how to paste etc.
I've just been listening to Roxy Music's Country Life and a couple of others and have added a few of his songs to my Spotify.
I'll have a go at putting something on the Forum tomorrow....fingers crossed.
Thanks again.

Tamworth was cancelled this year but let's hope it is back in 2021. My mother always loved this song.

I think he played with guitar hero Alvin Lee (10 years after), and Grateful Dead back in the '80s.
