Also, 'rediscovered' my love for Black Sabbath Sabotage - 4th album I ever bought. Funny how you forget how much you love certain albums.


The first 6 Black Sabbath albums were brilliant

No argument from me there. Overall, I love the first self-titled album most because it's great heavy blues.
I never got to see them in the 70's but made up for it in Brissie when they did the End of World Tour. They mostly played tracks from the first three albums.


I still remember the first time i heard A Bit of Finger/Sleeping Village/Warning on the first album.An unforgetable musical experience which imo started heavier music which is still developing 50 years later

Love those tracks (not sure A Bit of Finger is on it though) but the first and second tracks have me every time - Black Sabbath and The Wizard - can't help but sing along at the top of my voice 🙂
As you rightly said, they have influenced so many bands over the years it's amazing.

On another band, I only started listening to Hawkwind about three years ago - always thought they were too 'smacky' for my liking (meaning I didn't like the smackheads I knew who were into them) but albums like In Search of Space are really, really good.
If the borders ever open again, I'd like to go to Hawkfest (Hawkwind event where they still play), held every year for the last 50 years.

EDIT - I see A Bit of Finger is listed on the US version but no others hence my not knowing it as a track on the album
