You know you're getting old when you can't relate to the mindset of young footballers. Only player in living memory who I can remember signing with another club and expecting an immediate release. Doesn't matter how much talent he has, his ego will be his downfall. And unless he changes his attitude he'll make a career out of underachieving. But as long as he's making money it isn't like he'll care.

dont confuse the naive WT fans to that of the wider sporting community… Kent & Co a feeding the world with how poorly run we are and they are buying it!
 
Not confusing anything…. The wider NRL community most definitely and I'd guess sporting community are awake to these trash gossip Journos that thrive on negativity & run the game down as opposed to genuine sports writers/media

You really think whatever way the Club goes it will be portrayed posititively in the media….keep him and drop him bad Wests Tigers...let him go..pandering to players...bad Wests Tigers...

Wests Tigers in the media haven't said much at all apart from Mitchell has a contract this year...they are being professional where it matters...

It seems to me as though this is the perceived sticking point in this: tigers won't let him go without something in return, ie; player from Parramatta.
I'm guessing that the impasse is that they release Moses to get enough cap room for Lolohea but are playing hardball by not giving in to Moses' demands and want compensation for this move.

I think the time has now come where they need to just cut their losses and look upon Moses' actual leaving as the commensurate compensation.

Concise version: Moses leaving IS adequate compensation!

He can leave tomorrow if he leaves the money he would have earned if he had played until the end of the season.
 
Parra won't compensate us with a player or cash,there going to get him anyway, sad fact but true ,unfortunately we're not in a strong position here, if we don't want him here we're just going to let him go there or put him in reggies for the remainder of the year.
 
Doubt parra will offer up anything to get him. As we've signed Twal for next season, I'd be asking him to come over now if we're going to grant Moses an early release

i would suggest, if being at the tigers is causing him so much of a mental health issue… he should simply resign effective immediately.

go to Thailand or Bali - seek the professional help required and come back ready to pick up his 2018 contract.

or, stop the sooking, play footy to your capability or go to reggies but to "intentionally" work against your team is not a good look ! ! !
 
I wouldn't worry too much about the media coverage of this.

There's a reason why they push these stories and not those of power struggles at Manly - because players are colourful and well known. 90% of NRL fans could not have even named the Manly CEO until a few weeks ago.

The media loves narratives, anything that fits they will run w it. E.g. the whole thing about the Tigers attack, even Gould said on Friday to watch out if it clicks. Fool hasn't been watching our games, our attack has truly clicked once this year, round 1, everything else has been disjointed or at best competent.
 
I'd send him to reggies. There is no other punishment.
No release whatsoever. Not even for money.

Make him learn the hard way to honour something.
 
I take mental health very seriously.

The only decent thing to do is to take him out of the NRL first grade situation that is causing all this stress. I wouldn't pick him until he has had a few good sessions of rehabilitation, in Thailand if that's what it takes. That did wonders for the other Mitchell bloke.

If the rehab counsellors think it is ok, then bring him back through reserve grade, off the bench at first then slowly increase his minutes. Once he has shown he has overcome the stress, introduce him to the first grade coach again.

I've known lots of people who suffer from stress and a lot of them are genuine, not all.

What I do know is that the worst outcome is to release him to Parramatta into a different and strange working environment. Not until he is suitably rehabilitated.
 
I hear the Glen Morrison toilets are in need of a good scrubbing, perhaps we could utilise him there for the remainder of the season. :smiley:
