When should guys retire?

With Noddy today coming out and saying that he wants 3 more years at the Doggies, bringing his retirement age to 36, i'm interested to see what people think about when players should retire?

In my opinion, guys like Skando should be lining up for us again this year. Even though he is supposed to be too old, he was one of our better props last year. From a playing perspective only, I think he could do a better job off the bench than someone like moors… or start better than Gibbs.

Thoughts?

i think its difficult a little to compare a prop to a halfback. Cliff Lyons and Terry Lamb come to mind. Why is Kimmorley any different?

Each player is different and it's too hard to classify an age, although I suspect we won't see too many players playing beyond 35, and not many will reach that mark. Some blokes have great endurance and cardio fitness like Steve Price and Steve Menzies, then you have blokes that smoke a pack a day like Cliffy Lyons and Jason Smith who played well into their 30's as well. Injuries sustained over the years can no doubt have an effect also.

Willow hit the nail on the head….depends on the individual player.....now that they are fully professional I think they are playing longer....

I a bit surprised this didn't appear in the contract thread.........saying we should sign Kimmorely.....a genuine HALFBACK.....
