When Will The Coach Be Announced?

Fair dinkum, it was only a few short weeks ago that most of you guys were screaming that you would take anyone as coach as long as it wasn't Sheens. Now it seems most of you are screaming about Parish even without any firsthand knowledge of how he interviewed, what his plans might be and what he's likely to be like as a man manager. Talk about being impossible to please.

x2

When you don't know where you going, any coach will take you there

I'm still of the belief that gaining a coach with experience is not vital. We have the experience and leadership already there. The coach's personality though will be key. I think he needs to be a strong character. Most definitely a guy who believes in disciplined structure. I think a lot of people are writing Parish off for his lack of experience. It may not be a key factor in WT's decision. At the end of the day though, the sub committee will make the decision they feel is best and we'll just have to get on board and support it.

Not sure I agree Tigerpete. There have been a few vital times over the last 3 or more seasons when we really needed someon in the playing group to use their experience. Dropping on the ball at the back of the scrum in the Roosters semi final, not kicking to the corner on the last in the Warriors semi final.

Our playing group lacks the experience and leadership we need. I am really hopeful that Blair and Anasta can take on this role next year. Blair knows he hasn't been good, but I don't think Sheens did him any favours in the way he played him either. We need a coach who can communicate with the players on their level but is clear and concise in the role he wants them to play both on and off the field.

If he can make Benji run the ball every second set it will be a great step forward IMO.

Lack of experience will not be a factor in selecting Parish as coach interesting… It will not be as black and white as many might think to support such a decision .

George Harrison fan?

My first choices would be Anderson or Brown, but I dont have a problem with Parish. I know very little out the bloke except he was a average footballer with a big ticker. IAm willing to give any new coach a fair go before I start tearing them to threads. We need a strong person who can turn the culture of the place around not a coach who wants to please the players

Not that you can believe everything that you read in the paper but in the article yesterday by Dean Ritchie it said the sub-committee is meant to make it's recommendation's at a board meeting on the 25th October. He also had a bit of a bet each way & said some board members wanted it earlier. So who knows!

Generalising hmmm?
Never does anyone any good

Classic Ink ….. the irony within that quote isn't lost on me. If it was intended - brilliant!
By the way - love your latest Avitar.

Hopefully the media is wrong about Matt Parish. I think its like Stephen Kearney he was fav for the nz coach and look who ended up coach hope its the same with us anyone but him.

Interviews were finalised today. No announcement will be made for maybe 2 weeks

If youre goin to have a go at people, why dont you try and be selective, and quote a member or two, rather than take the easy way out and make a broad sweeping comment without quotes, that holds little weight.

Wouldn't surprise me if by this time next week we know who our new coach is

Melb Cup day

I'm not saying that he can or can't coach , but you might find that Parish had a real positive influence with Robbie during SOO and Robbie might be saying that he wants him

With Farah coming off contract next year, IMO i think Farah will have a big say in who we appoint coach. The reason i believe he will have a say is because the board will be doing everything it can to keep him happy & happy with the direction the club is heading in.

Make Farah captain-coach .

He has to stay then .

Ben galea has just Tweeted that our new coach is Potter. In a conversation with Keith Galloway.

Thats why we are in this mess!…I'm hoping the Board realises this!
