Where are we at competitively?

Our strength is we play as a team and 17 players contribute. Our weakness is we lack a game breaker. Someone who can create some magic when we are struggling. We are definitely a top eight side but doubt we are top four come September

Honestly in defence feel like I’m watching Melbourne storm when they would smash teams. Loving what I’m seeing this year!!!

Were good.

Were not Storm Clinical defense. But we are good, very high energy.

More like Broncos, Parra or Manly with a good pack. High energy and supporting each other.

We are a top 8 side whose current position on the ladder is flattering.
Unstructured eyes up attacking footy is our strength.
The tough bruising defence is good to watch.
There are many holes in our game though and we don’t have a leader on the field who controls the game and influences the ref.

I thought this was Luai's job, tbh... ??

We have some "game breaker" or X-factor in us.

Taylan May is probably our best bet.
Bula isn't a game breaker, but he can be dangerous.. We need more out of him.

The one that could be and was hired as an X factor is Latu Fainu.
We haven't seen that yet.

I think Luai could be effective as a 14, all that energy and chaos when the teams are tired. But $1.2m says otherwise ...

My concern is this.....

I feel like its easy to work out how to beat us and as a result, we need to evolve much more in our attack, otherwise we will continue to lose games we were in a position to win. At the moment, I think teams are starting to work out that if you stop Twal and May offloading, and rush Doueihi and Luai they will stop, prop and jink back inside, creating us to lose all momentum in the set. Therefore our attack becomes very limited. Yes rushing our halves can create some space outside, but its getting evident that AD and Jerome's first instinct is to hold the ball and cut back into where all the defense is.

The next few weeks are very interesting. I have a bad feeling that our forward pack will continue to give us hope, but our lack of ballplaying class and execution will let the pack down and we will fall short.

We are a side that can and should finish bottom half of the top 8.

There are still questions regarding the fluency of the attack and I think we are an injury to Bula away from being very ineffectual - if fit we will put some teams away this year but we are going to struggle to score against the teams that control the ruck.

I worry that we will be effected if the crackdown on the ruck is eased. Teams will go back to slowing down the ruck across the park knowing that our redzone attack is rubbish.

So far this season we have been competitive in every game we’ve played.
The result doesn’t matter as much to me as much as finally having a team that is a serious chance to beat any other team on its day.
Spent too many years knowing before kick off that wasn’t the case.

Agree with this mate.
There was only a few games last year where we didn’t aim up.
It’s been a long time coming so enjoy it, hopefully we get some news on the retention front soon.

We are a top 8 side with Madden as the half-week in, week out.

We miss the 8 if Benji keeps the losing combo of luai and AD in the halfs and only allows madden to play 15 mins a game

I know I'm going to jinx us but the best thing I can say about us this year is that I can't see us conceding 50 points. We genuinely look too fiit and mentally resilient to do that.
