Where do you rate our forward pack ??

I would dearly like to see the opposition, despise playing against wests-tigers.
as they know they will be in for a bruising and brutual game
it will put a smile on my face if opponents at the end of the game hobble off, and leave having tasted the ground surface, dirt in their mouth, ears and eyes. .

then and only then will opponents be wary of wests-tigers pack.

Not much point if they lose the game - skill, not bruising is the reason why the best footballers play at the top level NRL. Was Artie Beetson a bruiser?

Our young forwards like Murdoch Masala, Groat, Gavet, Pettybourne, Buchanan will be given a lot more opportunities this year because Potter will be going with 4 forwards off the bench. Under sheens we were always down on muscle because he always played with 3 forwards and a back, this was a big difference in a lot of losses last season.

I think we have a good pack. Average at worst.

Sauce for me has always been a giant softy and not a rep player, But still can make some good runs if his timing is right.

Woods is excellent. I think he will probably be in the top 5 props in the game for the next 3 years. Runs hard and straight and always looking to offload and loads of endurance. He will be in my DT this year thats for sure.

Blair needs another 15 kgs back on him and we need him coming off the bench IMO, But his defence last year was not that bad. Its his attack and the way he just fell over every time he hit the line,, That was soft.

I think Fulton is good but not great,,, Time for him to improve has all but run out. I have always thought the same thing about Heighington as well, Great clubmen but kinda soft.. They were never in with a chance to play for the blues. Thanks for the memories though.

Anasta in my opinion was an excellent buy. Relatively cheap and he can play much to the objection of many other haters. Oozes experience and can kick goals. Great mentor for players like Siro and co. Ive seen some posts by others here suggesting he can not play 7.? Why? I think he could. He was a compentant 6\. so why not. But I dont think so. he has the 13 booked in.

Pettybourne, Thompson, BMM I think look good. There is a lot of competition and that will bring out the best of these guys.

Simple answer ….yes (as well as being a great footballer).

Not sure I agree CK. I wouldn't describe Artie's game as bruising. At his best he was almost impossible to contain. But I don't think he was a noted defender.

In fact, in his early days at Balmain, he probably spent a fair bit of time in defense, chatting to the fullback.

Of course he did make one tackle that still reverberates today - the legendary tackle on Mick Cronin in SOO #1.

Big Artie is one of my all time favorite players and the thing that set him apart from the others was his skill and athleticism.
