I am NOT asking for:
-magpies to be used instead
-western suburbs to be used instead
-wests only to be instead
-black & whites or any other wests only reference
-nothing to do with nsw cup debacle
I have not suggested anything about comparing it to the name balmain tigers or the magpie on sleeve.
Its the WESTS TIGERS that we ALL follow!!

well we shouldnt have its wests tigers= no balmain no magpie…not worried though but its means you do get a fair go with it.
The media dont call them stg illawarra they dont say brisbane broncos,north queensland cowboys sydney roosters they call teams by their nickname....its the way it is...that's why balmain decided to keep the nickname rather then their traditional name....

My main point is wanting to ensure the relevance and legacy of the wests name is retained via the rugby league community. The main carrier of that legacy is through how the media (tv/radio/print) potray and call the team that is WT.
2 weeks ago, ricky stuart wrote a full page article in the sunday telegrpah about benji marshall and the WT… The words 'wests tigers' was not mentioned once.
All i am asking is for the wests name in wests tigers to be respectfully preserved for all and by all MOST (not all) of the time.
Wests Is not a mouthful like 'st george-illawarra' so its not a big ask
