Where is our team at at the moment?

it took Canberra 70 mins and lucky tries to be in a position to beat us. It took us under 10mins to overtake them with terrific team tries. Regardless we lost becoz of a dumb penalty, Tiges ripped them a new a/hole! looks like combos are building nicely. our season is f*****d as far as finals footy goes, but after the improvements I have witnessed over the past few weeks, can confidently say we are no more the easybeats. If the halves can be elevated, then we'll see more wins
TRUE, but it was while they had one in the bin.

The old Wests Tigers could not score against 12, also TRUE.

Not sure what all this means other than that there is improvement, but hard to judge exactly how big an improvement it is until we have a larger sample to study, but it appears that we are heading in the right direction.

Why is our season gone?
We can mathematically still make it and as you said, we are no longer easy beats.
I don't like relying on mathematics
yeah fair enough though...there have been team/s with disastrous starts to the season that have gone on to win the comp, & if they can do it then my ton on their odds at season start is looking pretty handsome!

teams have won games with 12 men...didn't that just happen over the weekend?
A big 66 against the cowpokes...what about that?!?!?!

The win against the Cowboys was excellent.
The fact we backed that up with such a stagnant performance after a weeks break is slightly concerning. Very hard to get a read on where we are at.
There are three games today involving our fellow bottom 4 inhabitants. They should all lose meaning we live to fight again next week.
Titans were disgusting in the second half last night. We are strong finishers.
MUST WIN GAME for us next week.

True, but it was only 12 men for 10 minutes which is exactly the period that we scored all our points and took the lead, a lead which many people would have thought was going to be enough for us to win the game.

The opposition went on to win when they got 13 back on the field.

As I stated, we are improving but how big an improvement it is and how consistent we are going to be is yet to be determined.

I dunno if I'd call it stagnant. they had good lead ups throughout the game but couldn't finish & their defence is still patchy & needs work

but then in the last 10mins they really clicked

and that was amazing...i reckon there would have not have been a tiges fan anywhere wasn't yahooing
the confidence the tiges get from that...

Even after the Canberra penalty goal, I was confident we could get the job done based upon the try scoring blitz we just had.
Our last set of the game was dreadful. It was panicky, without direction and leadership and completely nonsensical.
They looked pretty demoralised to me at full time as they had let another win slip through their grasp.

My answer would have to be addressed via the following three questions:
1. Where is the Club now in respect of:
a) The Board, inclusive of CEO & Chairman etc.
b) How are the Tigers Finances including Salary Cap
c) Is the Coaching staff (including Assistants & player identification employees e.g. Fulton) and their contracts correct for the present and future?
For me the obvious response is that the club still has a bad aroma about it from 11 years of unsuccessful on- field performances and the failure of past and present Board Members (CEO'S & CHAIRMANS) to deal with Salary Cap issues, selecting the right Coaching staff and poor relationships with Player Agents.
The current position on the NRL Ladder paints a clear picture of where the Club currently resides. Is there a beam of light breaking through at Concord? YES, but the Wests Tigers FANS are still being treated as MUGS and unless we can have more of a say then I see that beam of light fading into the outer darkness.

that's down to the halves...and that's where we need elevation

otherwise, I don't see why they would be demoralised...i'd think they'd be encouraged...raiders are going pretty well & in the top 8...& Tiges pulled their pants down

It didn't make any difference they had 12 or 13 on the field...raiders didn't win moreso tiges lost it with a dumb penalty
and to get 3 tries in under 10mins even against 12 is good...tiges didn't let them close the game out

They didn’t pull their pants down. They couldn’t score a point until Raiders lost a defender.
13 on 13 = Raiders 20 nil.
13 on 12 = Tigers 19 nil.

First 67 minutes = couldn’t score.
Last 3 minutes = couldn’t score.
That’s why they looked demoralised.

Nah i don't buy it...teams with 12 men have gone on to score and win games...and also, it showed that when tiges get an advantage from the opposition they now how to capitalise
and if a side doing well in the comp like raiders can't hold out teams for 10mins? one try maybe, but 3 in UNDER 10 mins...i don't think you are giving the tiges enough credit

IMO If they diffuse a short kickoff tigers win…19-18 over 80 minutes.

They pulled their pants down in that 10 minutes where they scored 3 converted tries and a field goal. That shouldn’t happen at NRL level.

Weve got a good team !
The Raiders with their huge powerful pack who have been winning most weeks couldn't break our line and resorted to kicks into goalposts hoping for a lucky unpredictable bounce
We made many more line breaks and tackle breaks Nofo alone had 11 tackle breaks
Keep calm were OK and if we will get better

Yep. And it was mentioned at the time Starling was sent to the bin that the raiders have had players sent to the bin on 5 occasions and had only conceded 1 try overall. So to put 3 on them was a good effort.

I really don't give a rat's a**e they lost rather more proud about how they've turned it around

years gone by, with 10 left on the clock & down to nil they would have been thinking not long before we're in the sheds with a coldie in hand

but lately we've been seeing them fighting HARD right up to the final whistle

And that alone makes me proud as punch - like I said...no more easybeats

Facts are facts.
It’s pure conjecture that we would have done that without the sinbin.

That game was a pure arm wrestle. Tries were being scored based upon errors only.
To give one side that sort of advantage changed everything.
Put it this way, should we have copped a sin bin and based upon how that game was ebbing and flowing, would they have also piled on the points?
It would seem likely.
