Where would you play benji?

i've noticed im not the only one thinking he shouldn't be in the halves. so where would you play him?

I'd play him where he won the golden boot, 4nations and premiership. He just needs a GOD DAMN halfback!! it's been brought up a bit but not nearly enough. 05 prince, 10, 11 lui. He shouldnt be forced to be taking long kicks and kicking for touch. Hand that over to a controlling halfback (e.g. not miller) and let him chime in whenever he wants and you'll see him return to his old self.

Have a look at that almost try against penrith where koro stepped on his inside as benj passed it to him. It's clear benji can still step and that's all he needs to do! make a hole, pass to koroibete or simona or nofo or teddy and we're in business. Benji was NEVER a speedster. he was quick sure, but he relied on his steps and his agility and his ability to read plays. There's a good youtube video of 2005 benji highlights, I think he gets wrapped up by thurston at one stage.

So, give benji a controling halfback like anasta, lui, prince or maybe brooks and you WILL see him earn his paycheck.

I really think he cares, and loves the tigers. The reason he screws up so much is cause he tries too hard. He cant take every kick, organise every play and not screw up. No one can, everyone needs someone to give em a break and take some responsibility off their shoulders.

I hope I'm right too and the return of Anasta or Brooks or even Sirro back at 7 sparks something in benji. If not, let him go in 2015 and for god's sake dont re-sign him till he earns it…..

To me it seems that Benji is at his best when he is injected as the ball is moved along the offensive line, when running play has already been established. Other than that it is as if he cannot be trusted to keep his head screwed on long enough in the halves to get us through to the last tackle in effective offensive sets.

Its hard. If he is in the centres, which I voted for, there has to be careful consideration in the defensive line, as strong centres will cause him problems, and being caught out there winger, Benji then another half may be exposed rather easily.

Halfback, leave Sirro at 5/8 he's solid and can only get better

In defence let him hide somewhere…maybe as marker where he can rush the kicker and grab guys jumpers from side-on?

In attack he can roam and put himself where ever he wants

Problem hiding him in defence is that we already are most of the time but when there is pressure or quick PTB's you cannot hide him.

He needs to be playing no football this week and probably next. Week after that Reserve grade. Let him come in and dominate a game, get that swagger back
