Who are the teams to beat this year

Why do we always say were no chance were a massive chance to be in top 8 or even top 4 we still have a great team and we will have a halfback playing in the the halfback postion. The only real loss was Ellis and mabe Beau but a winger you can always replace we have a good team on paper if we just play to our best then watch out here come the tigers.

I can give you multiple reasons why TR4L

New Coach
Getting over the old coach
Lack of fire power in the forwards
Lack of defensive grunt
New playing style
Mental demons of the past

All of this is going to take time to mold together and if we struggle early on it will damage the confidence even more

I'm not saying we can't make the 8 , and I surely hope we do , but the reality is we will probably struggle in 2013

2014 will be a different proposition however

for me its wests-tigers.
until wests-tigers show an improvement in being able to contol and then shut down a game, no one will give them a chance.

storm will be solid, and will show signs of there main 3 beginning to slow..
manly, :imp: well shouldn't be allowed in the comp ( won't vent as will be banned from this forum)
Cowboys, on the up, massive chance to win as long as they don't get crap ref calls go against them .
Knights will make decent in roads, as they have a more aggro bunch of forwards.
Rabbits, depends on if Inglis can't stay fit.
Sharks beginning to circle, had their taste in 2012 finals, and will be hungry for more.
Bulldogs, will be clinical, have to prove to themselves, they are capable of winning the comp.
As for remaining teams, they play to their potential, they can give the comp a real shake.
8 coaches will be happy.
8 coaches and alot of fans will be very disappointed ,when their teams don't make the 8, but rest assured they will back up again in 2014, as we will.

The absence of Heighnington, Ryan and Moors is no real loss for West Tigers. The loss of Ellis, yes maybe, but he was starting to show real signs of wear and tear. With the awakening of the potential of the young Wests Tigers players from last year's U20's together with importation of new blood West Tigers have a stronger side than last year when Wests Tigers were favourites. This side will go very well in 2013, make no mistake about it.

x 2 … i have a really good feeling about this season with the the prospect of some guns getting a fair dinkum crack in f/g combined with genuine class and experience in benji, robbie and anasta

i dont buy the hype about the sharks. they have imo bought too many players that are on the decline.
sowfs are sowfs and they have a coach similar to dezzy .. ie no plan b when original game plan isnt working.
storm will still be the testing material.
roorters will be busted for salary cap overs.
knights have bought well and may be up ther abouts when the whips are cracking at the end of the season.
cant wait for the season to start though, bring it on. :sign:

Spot on. When I heard they were leaving I was a little dissapointed but we can cover them. Ellis was the only real loss and last year he was well below his potential. I also think we have the goods for 2013\. We have IMO the best hooker in the game, Benji back to his best position, an actual halfback, and we have bought well. We also have plenty of young players that will only benefit by playing under Farah, Anasta, and benji. The only problem we have is an unknown coach (at NRL level). We are one of the teams to beat. :sign:

The Tigers will be stronger than last year, genuine top four material but I'll be happy if that's not recognised by most. Benji back to 6, two very good options at fullback, Farah will be farah, Jacob miller to be a good ying to Benjis yang, Anasta with a bucket load of experienc, a cool head under pressure and a proven clutch performer. Add to that some added mongrel inPettybourne, Thompson, Gavet and Blair getting the chance to play his natural physical game under Mick Potter, renowned for his Bellyache style of coaching. Woods who gets better every year with Galloway and some serious young talent pushing for spots across the board.

I still think the Storm and Bulldogs have an ocean between them and the rest of the field, but I think we could lead the chase along with souths and the Cowboys and possibly the Broncs and sharks.

I'd like to know how many of the people out there saying we're no chance are the same ones saying we would win it last year. The arrival of Mick Potter could not of come at a better time, and while I'm not going to say we'll win it, we are clearly in a better position now than this time last year.

The Sharks have a great team on paper, but it's a very new squad and could take time to gel. In saying that, they've recruited quality players, and many have played together before (Graham/Lewis/Gordon, Ryan/Gibbs/Morris/Heighno/Fifita), so things should fall into place quickly.

My confidence will probably be misplaced but i think the tigers will have a good season.the sharks and cowboys look strong and maybe up to making a big challenge for top honours.

The big 3 for Storm just never ever get injured so that plays a massive role for them ( I would guess that they wouldn't have missed a dozen NRL games between them in the last 2 seasons). If you can keep the spine of your team intact for all of the season you will be there at the end.

Can't say we have had much luck with injuries in the last few years, if we stay fit we will finish around 5th or 6th and give it a shake from there IMO

melbourne , dogs , rabbits , we have gained more with our sighings than we lost , and we can cover ryan with our young gun wingers if needed , Tigers 4th

I haven't got big expectations for us this year which is a good thing in my mind, last year i built my hopes up to high and was very miserable when things didn't work out , like to see the young kids given chances and let them learn from there mistakes , i still believe will have a good year great mix of youth and experience so this is my top 8:
1.Bulldogs
2.Cowboys
3.Storm
4.Souths
5.Sharks
6.Broncos
7.Tigers
8.Manly

Its always hard to predict early in the season but maybe…

Cowboys (in Townsville)
Manly
Broncos
Storm
Cronulla
Dogs
Souths
As always looking for a good season. But I dont get to see WT until late in the season, looking fordward to that...
