Who do you want as our next coach?

Everyone relax,if Sheens does leave his position will be filled by none other than a WT favourite currently coaching in the NSW CRL.Mr Fitz, just when we thought we had seen the back of him ….lol

Just what Group in the CRL is our prospective coach currently involved in, I'm from Group 10 and I can't think of anyone suitable, Bobby Adamson would have been good 30 years ago!. :roll

Whether you like it or not, it was only 8 or 9 months ago when Ricky Stuart was almost over the line. Personally, not a match for us in my opinion.

Gould - Are you kidding…overated.
Folkes/Brown - Failed before with good squads. Proves good players don't necessarily make good head coaches.
Gentles - No chance.
Elliott - Could do worse.
Rick Stone- 10000 to 1

It will be a high profile coach because that is what the Tigers board wants at the moment. I'm waiting to see someone totally from left field.
EG:
Neil Henry?

Heres a name from left field John Lang (You didn't state whether you wanted a good name or a bad name )

Jason Taylor?
Brad Fittler?
Matt or Andrew Johns?

I'm just naming idiots though, sorry to humour the people who think they would be good options.

I reckon it'll be someone from left field as well, and high profile. No idea because the club doesn't want us to have an idea. Fun to watch though.

I`d be happy with Ricky Stuart or Steve Folkes. Other than that Nathan Brown wouldn`t be all that bad either.

You are fair dinkum kidding - Ricky is an arrogant bum who knows nothing about attacking football (as a coach) & Folkes is as stale as old cheddar!!

Browny would only get our boys on the piss!!

Wake up!!!!!

PS - Geo - as for Roy & Wok - they are long retired & have no feel for the modern game!!! This would be like resurrecting the Queen Mother!!!!!

if Blocker's coaching is anything like his commantating than he'd struggle 2 get a gig for an under 7's outfit

Ricky Stuart is rubbish, no thanks.

Brown on the other hand has done a great job at Huddersfield with not much in the way of talent to work with.

He was thrown into the Dragons hot seat too early, and should never have been appointed there as he was too close to the players, many of whom he was playing with only a couple of years earlier. Saying he "would get our boys on the piss" is pretty derogatory if you ask me.

As for Folkes being stale, he was in the last season at the Dogs, which was why he resigned. They made the finals every year under his tenure bar two seasons. The man can coach.

Everyone goes on about attacking football, but IMO we need a hard taskmaster who will sort out our defense.

Also, I'm surprised that Daniel Anderson's name has not been mentioned more.

He's taken the Warriors and the Eels to a grand final and also did well in England playing relatively good football.

He would certainly not put up with players having their say in team selections in order to keep their mates happy.

HT - are you kidding???

Brown had the likes of (Man of Steel winner) Hodgo at his disposal - along with Whatuira - Faalogo, Lolesi etc….... at Huddersfield! And he flicked Hodgo one year after Brett won the aforementioned award - only to see his team struggle!!

Great judge of talent is Nathan!!!

He may be ready now - but is struggling with a team that now includes LOD - & he is a party-boy from way back who loves sharing a drink with his charges!!!

Folkes was "mutually released" - he NEVER resigned - but his team was flat as a tack (as was he)!!!! And again he let Thurston go to retain Anasta (another genius with talent spotting)!!!!

As for defence - it should be 2nd nature & our guys have let us down - but that does not mean we need a conservative head-coach who will only leave us back in the middle of the pack!!!

As for Anderson - he is a Brian Smith protege who will never win a comp (just like his mentor)!!!!

A washed up Whatuira who can't even get a start for the worst Parramatta team in decades, Faalogo and Lolesi is talent now is it?

Brown may not end up a great coach, but judging him solely in his time at the Dragons is unfair IMO.

Again, Folkes was flat in his last season, understandable after so many years at the one place. They made the finals every year bar two under his reign.

Anderson is a good coach who never should have been punted from that basket case of a club in Parramatta.

As for defense - Sheens has been here for nine years and we have failed to consistently defend well during that whole time.

Whatuira was there for 3 years after leaving us - he was far from washed up at 26 years of age!!!

Brown is a Wollongong pub bum!!!!

As for Folkes - he made all of those finals with a corrupt intentional salary-cap cheating team - & won the comp with the same after the NRL allowed them dispensation in 2004 (to the continued embarassment of Gallop)!!!

Re: Defence: The head-coach is not the defensive coach (try moving into the 21st century mate)!!!! Sheens took that role off Royce in 2010 & it was our best defensive year in their term!!!!

Huddersfield are outright 1st with 9 wins and 3 losses even though they've lost their best player in Brett Hodgson. Not struggling

Hodgson is at Warrington this year!!!

They lost to the Crusaders this week - and are far from morals for any title this year!!

I concede they are not struggling - but I don't rate Brown as a coach or a man!!!
