Slow cookers in Winter time are the best, set before you go to work and eat when you get home, will have to try this recipe out as I usually rely on the packet mixes from the supermarket shelf!.

I'm a bit worried about the toma**toe** and pota**toe** but then I guess that contrasts with the chuck steak

Haha nice one Cunno…

Yeah Andrew I do a mean stew as well. Quite similar to this. I always use my slow cooker though. Good stuff. Keep up the recipies....

Cunno, did a Braised Lamb Shank recipe mix from McCormicks and it required lot's of Tomato's but it did recommend that the Potato's were mashed althought the wife did add her little touch with some diced Potato's to thickened the thing up (I presume).
This was a highly satisfactoy meal as the meat just FELL off the bone, a good sign I'm led to believe.

Sounds great mate….all the liquid wouldnt simmer away in 90 mins would it?

Assuming parsnip & turnips are optional too eh?
Will be when I do it

corn flower will thicken it up more if required , turnip and parsnip optional but do add great flavour , try grating them so they hide in the mix , we use to grate onions when making hamburgers so the kids didnt see them , grate and mix into the mince another option that people say is great is adding lidneys to the stew , i dont cant stand the site of them lol
