With Graham going to the Dragons and the Dogs knocking them out of this years finals series it would be firming for Perth..

What am I missing re: Perth?

season to be opened in a double header in Perth. Dogs and Souths have home games.

Nah. The dogs will take the titans, storm or warriors to Perth. The clubs who come to Perth only ever bring a side that would draw a low crowd in Sydney.

Matulino for me. I'm predicting him to put Woods to shame - maybe not on the stats sheet, but in terms of impact on the game.

How do you think they compared on Sunday? Playing opposite each other.

That's why I brought it up. Matulino was outclassed on the day but maybe woodsie lifted for the last game and matulino wasn't playing the footie he would like? I dunno but it did worry me.

I didn't watch Sunday's game, but it sounds like woods out played matulino. I still think matulino is a better player and would prefer him to lead our forward pack

TBH I've watched less than a dozen Matulino games so Im not the best judge on him. Woods is very consistent in getting the team down the right end of the field , producing offloads , plays long mins and good in defence .
If Matulino is close or better I'll be more than stoked.

Matulino is different, I don't think he'll play as many minutes as Woods, and will probably make slightly less hit ups.

However, IMO Matulino is a stronger defender, and generally makes good metres every hit up due to his footwork and hard running style. He also gets quick play the balls much more often and you won't seem slowing momentum down to milk a penalty the same way Woods does.

Milne for me, I think he might be flying under the radar. Of course he has to crack a spot, but a few people who are involved in other clubs tell me this kid could be anything. May amount to nothing, but I like backing outsiders

I am keen to see if Milne and Fonua can add something to the side. Also I'd like to see Reynolds playing hooker/dummy half. Also I really hope that Benji will feature and will enjoy seeing him in the Tigers strip again. Finally I hope that Liddle can build his game and provide the time with a real DH option to add a further dimension to our attack.

I think that's the right attitude to take with Woods. He isn't a team within himself he also isn't a bad forward. Halfway between a Sam Burgess and a Chris Heighington, he won't win games for you but he will do his job.

IMHO for 950k he is too expensive. Then again for 950K you get a great forward and if you buy 350k forwards instead of 400k forwards to make up for that then he may be worth it.

Des Haslier was famous for having a formula to calculate player value. Clearly it is broken now, but in it's time he was able to buy guys on the cheap and get max value out of them.

Matulino for approx 600K. Done. IMHO he is not as good as Woods but if he is 90% as good as Woods then we are far ahead. Still Woods can get the job done, people hate on him because of his media handling, but performance wise he is still an 800k NRL player IMHO.

It was 475k for Matulino - that is good value / 650k for Packer - also good value.

I reckon we will vs dragons or bulldogs round 1

Why the Dragons? No round 1 game has ever been more obvious than us up against the Dogs with both Reynolds and Woods playing against their former clubs. The match writes itself. Bet every cent you have on the Tigers v Dogs round 1.

Likely true we will play the dogs. They are locked in for round 1 in Perth, and it would reflect the current NRL to deny 30k true fans including members of both clubs, access to the game

Milne and Fonua

Predicting Suli to turn out a dud, just have a feeling.

The kid was one of our best at the start of the season. Unless the injury has an effect on him going into next season, I don't see anything stopping him.

Maybe a brick wall TBD.

If he is a dud - hope we have a few more in the cupboard.

I wouldn't be writing Suli off just yet, I see himas more of a second rower. He wasn't getting enough ball out wide and doesn't have the brilliance to match it with opposition speedsters, but he is a big kid who can step out of tackles and has great ball skills. Worth every cent for mine.

Yeah me too! If his rookie season is any indication, I reckon he's gonna be a star!

Suli really started to look dangerous when Lolohea joined the side and our backline started seeing a lot more ball. He's certainly handy doing the hard yards out of our half, but get him one on one with defenders when he has a head of steam up and he's very hard to contain. I think his size will eventually get the better of him and he'll end up in the backrow, but for now he's the best centre we have.

Only time will tell if he's going to be a star or not, let's re-visit this topic in 12 months.
I can't explain why I feel that he's going to be a dud but it's just a prediction I thought I'd share.
Hope he proves me wrong.

Hard not to be impressed with Suli but time will tell if he can improve or even maintain his form. My only question mark is speed and if he has the engine to make the change into a backrower in a few years, from what i saw this year he reminded me of a young Izzy falou

I thought Matulino and Packer were signed for more than that?? Was it ever disclosed?
