Who is the worst?

I know i’ve been harsh on Woods, but at the end of the day, he’s a simplistic buffoon who I think was easily lead.

Has to be Moses. He’s the only player in the game who I’d be tempted to spit on if I walked past him in the street.

Where is Jason Taylor on that list ?

He didn’t actively set out to try and screw the club over like everyone on that list. He made some massive mistakes, but he at least had the club’s best interests at heart.

1. Moses - I can never forgive someone intentionally throwing games

2. Cleary - Had a whole salary cap to spend, spent it poorly then jumped ship not even halfway through a contract. Point blank lied to fans and never apologised

3. Woods - Getting way too much of a pass on here. This guy was our CAPTAIN and was activley encouraging our stars, who we wanted to keep, to sign elsewhere

4. Matterson - At least he wanted til after the final game to throw a tantrum, still horrible form from him but the top 3 are a decent amount above him IMO

5. Tedesco - Yeah he didnt repay our loyalty but he put in on the field, didnt bag us publicly and I do think he genuinely felt bad about leaving. I know for a fact he told some players he wanted to come back to the club at some stage. Whether that eventuates is another thing

I am sure no intentionally intends to go a screw the club over. Taylor was out of his depth as a head coach both in ability and personality and is probably in his best role now as a reserve grade coach

Not going to argue that, but I think you miss the point of the thread. It’s about players/coaches who backstabbed the club. For all of Taylor’s faults, he did not backstab us.

Apologies mate, it should have been posted in the Who is the WT most hated man thread.

1. Jason Taylor
2. Daylight
3. Moses
4. Morrison
5. Cleary.

We are still suffering from the Jason Taylor era, why did we have Woods, Tedesco, Moses and Brookes contracts expiring at the same time, and we lost so many decent players ie Farah, Sironen, Ado Carr, Paseco, Cherrington, Murdoch Masilla, TMM, Brown, Taupau So much went wrong while he was there, its no wonder why Tedesco and Woods left

Great thread, thank you.

If Terry Lamb was there I might have difficulty picking Ivan Cleary. But nuffies like Moses and Matterson don't come close.

You know, I often get called out for defending Taylor, and I try to leave it alone most of the time, because he’s been gone for over 2 years, and we’ve had 2 coaches since, and half a dozen other dramas. However BS like this post needs to be addressed because it’s littered with innacuaries. Perfect example of how people let their bias and agenda go completely overboard, ignoring the facts.

1. Taylor did not sign the big 4 to all come off contract at the same time. In fact, he did not sign any of them, period. Their contracts were signed before he even got here.

2. Nathan Brown left a full year before Taylor even got to the club.

3. Complaining that he let players like Cherrington, BMM, TTM go when none of those players amounted to anything after he left, is nothing more than a way to give your argument padding. And Nathan Brown left a year before

4. Yes, he let Taupau, Addo-Carr and Siro go. But he’s not the only coach we’ve had whose stuffed up on player retention. Sheens let Fifita go, Maguire has just let Matterson and Marsters go. It’s a pattern with the club, not one coach. On Taupau, if you wanna go a little deeper. He was with us at a time when we didn’t have two sticks to rub together. He was here 2 years on minimum contract and had earned a massive upgrade. Unfortunately, we weren’t in a position to upgrade him, and wouldn’t be for several years. So objectively, it would have been unfair for us to hold him back when there was big money on offer from a rival club, We did him a favour.

5. As for why Tedesco and Woods left, we’ll never really know if it was because of him. What we do know is that he was sacked before they signed elsewhere, and they had the chance to play under a “real” coach who everyone was begging for, who conveientely went on himself to screw us over and leave us in an even bigger hole than we were in when Taylor left.

There’s so much you can hang him for. Taylorball, the Farah situation, our defence. You don’t need to make stuff up like you did in the majority of your post.

Sorry for the rant, it’s been a long week.

All Taylor had to do was coach what he had in front of him- which at the time was a decent roster - and instead of developing what we were building towards, by the end of his tenure it was virtually dismantled and our reputation in tatters.
I'm in the camp of him being up there with the worst signing in this clubs short history and hope
for the clubs sake that no one we sign in the future will ever come close to having such a negative impact.

i know this will give everyone a laugh but i was told Tedesco,Woods etc liked Taylor and probably would have stayed if he never got sacked,i found it hard to believe,JT lost me with the press conference after a panthers loss where he was a asked if the game was lost by switching Kyle Lovett to the centres(D Whare ran around him for 3 tries) JT fumbled his way through the interview claiming thats not why the tigers lost and the players knew why.

@GNR4LIFE Get your own facts right,
* Nathan Brown signed for Souths March 2015, after a pre season with JT
* Taylor might not have signed the four before their contracts however he had plenty of time to upgrade the contracts and avoid that situation, he suppose to be a coach he was aware of it, was he?
* The reason Liddle has injuries is that he was brought into 1st grade too soon, if Taylor had of used Cherrington this situation would not have arisen, and he got rid of Farah. Also i am sure he was responsible for losing others not mentioned.
* This Thread is for our worst, well in my opinion he is our worst
* There is also so much more that could be said about this guy

The club was trying to sign the big 4 for 12 months. They did everything in their power. Should they have held them at gun point?

The reason Liddle has so many injuries is cos he’s 50kgs ringing wet. And he played 1 first grade game under Taylor, because we had no one availble due to injury and Farah being on rep duty. The NRL had to grant an exemption. Blaming Taylor for Liddle”s injuries is deadset bollocks.

Taupau left because of Farah

@GNR4LIFE It is said they were trying for 12 months however he failed. Maybe the four realised how good a coach Jason was and did not want to sign, they had enough.
Well fact is Liddle got injuries , tell me why was this, because he was too light, so why did the coach bring him up. You would think they would of bulked him up like Madge did this year. Truth is Taylor did not want Farah in his team, and he already got rid of Cherrington.
Jason Taylor stuffed our club up and returned to the Rortors.

Taylor was a bad man manager, poor club politician and couldn’t coach. He wasn’t capable of stabbing us in the back

If Taylor was the problem, why did they still leave AFTER he was sacked? One would think Cleary would have been a breath of fresh air if the coaching had been the problem. They still left. Common sense tells you, their issues ran deeper than the coach.

Why did Liddle get injuries? Probably because it’s the fate a lot of young players face. Was it Sheens fault that Marshall got so many injuries early in his career,? And I told you why they brought him up, because we had no one else. due to injuries and Farah on rep duty. And he did get rid of Cherrington, cos Cherrington was rubbish. Hasn’t played first grade since. Next you’ll tell us that’s Taylor’s fault as well.

Taylor was responsible for ballin and rankin?????????

Moses by a mile, he tanked games.

@the_third Are you sure about that, his decisions were bordering on ridiculous, he basically sabotaged our club. The roosters get Tedesco and after showing how incapable he was the Roosters decided to sign him up as a coach again, nothing to see here.
