Who is your preferred successor to Sheens?

This name is hasn't been mentioned but and I just thought of him and what he's done at previous clubs. Graham Murray. What do people think of him?

OMG LOL here we go, he had the same team at the roosters stuart did made 1 grand final and the finals in 2 years failed to do much at the cowboys with the best player in the world at his disposal, if you are seriously throwing up his name then its clear as day that you are just a ricky stuart hater, seriously chris…..

There are a few former first grade coaches out there that I didnt include because there's been no talk of them wanting to return to coaching/any affiliation with current clubs … few names that ring a bell are Graham Murray, Michael Hagan, Stuart Raper, Chris Anderson ... although Hagan is assistant coach for QLD this year

Yeah, you're right and I will admit it, I am a Ricky Stuart hater. Looks like I'll have to disect this for you ROn seeing as I made you look silly about your approval for Stuart now you're obviously stalking my posts looking to get one back. Yes, Graham Murray had the same team and he got them to their first grandfinal and lost but was sacked the following year. Not much of a chance to prove anything especially when he started the Roosters Juggernaut of that era.

Let's look at Murray's past. Took the STeelers from wooden spooners to semi finalists, took the cowboys from wooden spooners to grand finalists. Do you see the trend between him and Sheens?? They can build clubs from nothing to success yet Stuart goes backwards. If you ask me if I prefer Murray to Stuart? You better believe it! 100% before Stuart.

Kearney. Coached by some of the best including Wok Ryan, Opes Anderson & Bellyache. Has served his apprenticeship under Bellamey and Wayne Bennett. Kearney a former Western Suburbs Magpie, would bring a fresh approach, new ideas, systems and structure to Concord, along with a successful, winning culture to what Melbourne Storm currently have. Wouldn't be such a bad thing now, would it? His efforts with the NZ Kiwi's have been brilliant. He is closing the gap on the international stage in regards to the dominance by Australia. That in itself is no easy task. He's got my vote hands down.

Brown for sure, Folkes is like Sheens, the old guard. Its time to be looking at a coach from a younger generation. You also need a coach that can attract the odd marque player to the club.

I cant explain why but i have no faith in Kearney. I dont have an argument to back this up, just a gut feeling.

Picking a new coach is always risky. No one can tell who is the best man for the job, u just have to do your best to dissect the candidates hope u come up with the best guy.

The only thing im sure of is that Tim Sheens is a good coach but has had his time here and needs to move on. His ideas, speeches etc have been heard way too many times. The place needs some fresh ideas.

Ive heard good reports about Potter for a few years now, he's young and on the up. As far as the "untried" coaches go, i think he and Grant Jones are the best options.

As far as proven coaches go, i think Folkes will bring the hard nose approach the club needs, but if he gets the job, i'd really like to see a good assistant with him like Potter, jones or Brown.

Just watching the Super League on Ch 9 and the commentators said something about Mick Potter which caught my attention.

Last week St Helens young winger James Foster had a terrible first 20minutes and was pulled from the field by Potter (don't know if he went back on, but I presume so). Foster was then named at wing this week against Hull KR, with Potter quoted as saying "there's no benefit in dropping an up and coming youngster with loads of potential after one bad experience in their first few games" …

The Blake Lazarus situation immediately sprung to mind and how much this contrasts to the way Sheens dealt with it

BAAAAAAAAAAAAH

BAAAA

YEAH THAT WORKED FOR US IN 2001-02! AND SOUTHS W/JT!

Kevin Walters was an exceptional player and smart operator on the field. Whilst this doesn't always translate to coaching ability, he would be another candidate for mine.

brett kenny this bloke knows how to coach he has won a premiership at penrith when he coached there reserve grade (i think or maybe u20s) then was sacked for georgallis penrith havent recoved since so i would give him a shot and besides benji needs some guideance on his 5/8 play and who better than kenny, then you might see blocker back as a forward coach so thats my thoughts anyway, but we all no 1 R. Stuart has already got the job thanks sheensy

Poor old Royce didn't even get listed. I'm adamant we cant risk going backwards. If I wanted Sheens gone (I don't), then it would have to Folkes. The rest are untested or failures.
