If anyone believes Anasta will be at halfback at the Tigers you seriously need a check up.
 
A goddam halfback is no 1 priority.
Since losing Lui we've gone back to the Tigers pre Scott Prince.
Without a rudder we can have all the horse power we want but we will always be out of control.
We need a natural half with first grade experience no one fancy just someone with a solid kicking game will do.
 
Just watching warrington wolves and brett hodgson still looks brilliant, i know people have alot of faith in tedesco but jesus id love hodgson

Looking at our current squad plus a few of the signings .. I'm really confused with some of the signings we've made and the strategy/direction the club is going in.

Bell is playing really well and deserves an extension. BMM is having great impact off the bench. Fulton is plugging away as our workhorse which every team needs. Some on here think Heighno should probably look to the ESL and I tend to agree. Lote probably doesnt deserve another contract given form & talent in the 20s.

But with Siro's solid start on the weekend, it seems we have a decent halves pairing we can work with for next year. Add Tedesco coming back from injury.

My 2013 team would be:

6\. Siro

Depth is good, but where do guys like Bell, Groat, Moltzen, Reddy, Humble, Utai, Tuqiri, Bodene Thompson etc all fit in to the 2013 plan?

While Siro is young I'd be playing him at 5/8 but I can definitely see him turning into a backrower in his mid-20s.

It seems some of the signings we've made have been a little premature. Do we really need Anasta? I think it was kind of a knee jerk reaction to what seemed like a major problem with our halves. But there's been mentions of him playing in the backrow. Why then sign Pettybourne and Thompson? Where do they all fit with Bell, Fulton, Heighno, BMM? I stil think we're desperately one prop short. BMM has been great running on the fringes and I'd love to keep him in the back row.

Will be an interesting few weeks and months
 
Alex the one signing that I'm still perplexed about is Anasta I think our recent signings really make me think he will be in the halves and with Benji appearing to be the 7 Anasta will be at 6

I too thought he'd be in the halves, but if so, what do we did with Siro? Again we have too many backrowers and not enough props.

Seems 2013 wont change in regards to annoying team selections haha

I think you will see if cash man, bell , moors are resigned(that's an IF) add groat who should get better, woods and kg obviously and pettybourne and thompson ( 8 options) who can shift up front we may just be okay next year for props

So if Sirro is out of form Anasta can cover half/ 5/8\. If Sirro is killing it then leave Anasta in the forwards and we get the best of both worlds.

We are losing Ellis which is an impossible gap to fill, so why not buy two accomplished second rowers to fill that void and that way we have insurance.

Our signings appear to be all about depth and balance. I think our recruitment to date gets an A+, but I agree we still need another prop. I really like Ritchie Fa'aoso I am just not sure why Bennett doesn't! I also like Dane Tetavano from the Knights, but Bennett wont give him a start either even though he was Newcastle's best player last year.

I get our recruitment, the Knights however has me mystified.

Well either Wayne likes you or he hates you. People talk about Sheens having favourites, Bennett is the absolute master of that art…
 
MAtt bell is really a prop and if we keep cashman with woods, groat and galloway thats 5 props plus BMM who can cover the middle, blair can also cover and also you might even add vella next year to mix also. we will be fine up front

Yeah Yoss I know someone on the coaching staff who said that Bennett approached Junior Sau and sad that he had one game to prove that he wasn't a ball hog or he would never play first grade again under him. Sau is a decent player….but I wouldn't want to be the winger outside of him on a cold night in Canberra!
 
Happy with the players recruited so far.

Still would like one more prop if Cashmere and Moors are let go.

Current Props - Galloway, Woods, Bell, Bell and even BMM.

Would like to see Heighington move to England.
