who wants to see our rookies take over even if it means we are spooners?

Give the physio a crack, the old dude who looks like my father in law who walks them out, dwyer and the badge.
[This word has been automatically removed]ing anyone will do.

Our cup and Flegg sides have both been beaten in their first games. I'd love to drop some (most) of our NRL players. It doesn't sound like there's anyone ready to push the NRL players out of the side.

Well who's replacing Hastings, give laurie a go there and To'a to fulback maybe, can't do any worse that last game.

You can‘t just drop everyone like that, you still have to operate within your squad of 30. As @batboy has said many times, the youth aren’t going to learn on their own. You need someone to mentor them. Unleashing them with no one to guide them won’t do anything for them.
Need to find something to light a fire in the pretenders we have.

Newcastle 40-4 in State Cup is your answer..

Will not solve a thing ..and only destroy any chance of developing the young guys into 1st graders in the 1st place..

Totally the opposite of what you want to achieve with these guys..

All these latest posts and topics are just regenerating what most have been saying all over the off season. Nothing really knew.
1. The team with the best roster usually wins
2. Our players lack confidence, enthusiasm
3. Coaching seems behind the times
4. Our spine is inferior
5. Our forwards lack grunt
6. Players being dumb footballers.
We'll keep saying the same things over and over until we have a good roster-simply nothing will change
Sheens today said no change with Madge after 2 rds, lets see.

Yea there is something not right - in 2021 we were second to Penrith in KOE Cup and undefeated first in Jersey flegg. Come 2022 2 rounds in and we haven't won a game. So much for pathways.

Great idea - let’s ruin another 30 odd careers…
Our mantra since sheens left has been throw rookies in - don’t know if anyone has noticed….

It hasn’t been working!!

That’s one option, but it will be Madden.
Of course thats the obvious one, I think To'a has to come in imo.
Id be happy to have noffa at fullback for a better bringing the ball back, ahh what a mess

Well neither To’a or Madden played for the Magpies today so that would indicate they have been put on ice to come into the side tomorrow.

It's a process.

We have some classy rookies coming through but we should develope them carefully..

Perhaps in 2 years we can have a classy roster consisting of...

1 Logen Dillon
6 Adam Douihei
7 Zane Camroux
9 Mikey Tannous
12 Henry Okane
13 Bray Guyan

14 Rua Ngatauria
15 Justin Matamua

That's got class written all over it , however Rome wasn't built in a day.
Patience with these future champions.

Rookies need someone to help bring them into top grade even if it is our hacks.

You can also only use the Top 30 at this point we have 29 with a few injuries (Tamou, Doueihi, Keopoa, Blore, Talau, Liddle probably more). That leaves us with 23 take Hastings out 22. 16 played on the weekend so your rookies are
Toa
Simpkin
Madden
Garner
Kei?
???

Not much change happening there

And this supports my argument about the good old days, these 2 need to play footy as do any reserves, hate the modern day system. At one stage you had to play on the same day and if you were taken off after half a game you would be sitting on the bench for the main game.
Maybe COVID disruptions will be a pathways revelation.
Madden may play ⅝ and to'a replace roberts who has a sus leg is on the cards.

Not only has this been tried but we're still the only club who have tried it and won a Premiership,

This happened with Sheens' 2005 team of players who were known as cast-offs and a few local juniors.
