Who will be the next coach

I like Potter, but I'm getting the sense the players dont. The only coach I'd want to come in as replacement would be Steve Folkes

Has to be Mick Potter. Judging him by this years results is like blaming the Mayor of Hiroshima for a bad 1946.

They stopped paying Tim Sheens last month. So perhaps they are planning on using that money to sign someone up. Potter has hardly had a chance with the injuries we've had.
Plus:
Rookie fullback
2 rookie wingers
Injured centres
Disinterested 5/8
No halfback
1 prop
Small backrow
No kicking game

The strong mail is that the man will be Trent Barrett. They are certainly deep in talks. I can't name names and it might fall through but my source has also said Robbie supports this avenue

I honestly don't know what Barrett's claim to fame is ? Maybe he will pay to be coach. I hope that Potter hang's on as he had excess baggage to deal with and some of that has been addressed today.

They nearly stopped paying Sheens last month…a payout figure was agreed to by both parties...but the board rejected it when they were advised the WT were liable for tax on the payout...so the stalemate continues...another $9k coming his way this month

I'm not sure of trents credentials either but that is who they are gunning for? By all reports he has been very impressive as origin assistant and country coach but they are short term roles without the stresses of the weekly nrl completion and where your team isn't full of representative stars. Maybe it's a commercial stunt with his high profile maybe he has the right connections I don't care I just want a coach who can get some consistency and effort out of us

Blocker Roach could do a good job.

I hope that's a joke

Certainly is. In reality I believe that Sheens will make a return - and that is not a joke, If Wests Tigers want a disciplined club he would be the man.

that's brilliant mate, love it.

Can't blame the guy for trying to clean up someone else's mess as best he can. And he and mayer have done a pretty good job of it, we'll see the results of it next year with hopefully many less a thrashing and several more wins.

i heard about this guy, did will in the ESL, inherited an average team in the NRL and made some tough decisions, at one stage had 13 full timers unavailable to play due to injury. mick potter, anyone heard of him?

Yes heard of him but apparently he is mr kranky and doesn't accept under performing egos. So wat good would he b to us and he wants players to perform every week ? He can't b a tigers coach

I believe an expieriance coach has to be appointed , Niel Henry…Daniel Anderson or the like .The thought of Payten (the new boys club ) ,or a Rookie coach will be a disaster ,but disasters are what this board are all about. The USS Weststiger looking for that iceberg!

Ok, we some inevitable twitter rumours given the club's record this season, then an announcement from the club that some support staff would not be re-signing but Potter's job was safe, then Potter himself said he was confident of keeping his job. Even Robbie Farrah gave some his coach unenthused scripted support in a TripleM interview today. The only person prepared to step up and say Mick Potter will not coach the Tigers next year is the fruit loop Ray Hadley, and AFIK he's not claiming to actually have a source on that.

So how did we skip to "who will the next coach be"?

It's hard to say what direction the club will go here. I know there's a lot of people saying good things about Barrett. They may want experience though. I'd be staying away from Neil Henry. In all his time there he never really took them to a great level. Consistently under achieving. Would Nathan Brown be interested now???

I would say a coach that will stay in the coaches office so the senior players can continue there card tournament , and a coach that will teach younger players just to do as they want .

Highly doubt they will sack potter. More likely to hire a few assistants or promote Todd to assist.

Benny Elias lol

If that's the case it may turn out to be Potter, Barrett and Payten.

I could go with Potter and Payten. Barrett offers very little.
