He's gone from captain to bench in an off season so he'd be thinking the writing is on the wall. This won't be his last contract so he can't just cruise along like Packer.

I have been one of Brooks biggest detractors but he will have one thing in his favour this year that I hope he takes advantage of.
He is blessed with speed and with the game set to be played at a much faster pace he will, hopefully, utilise it against tiring forwards.
The kicking and game management are another thing entirely.

I think he was shoehorned into the wrong role because of the salary.

He's a solid first grader who got lucky.
